I think a great video would be I drive through the Hill Country featuring a brief history of each town and some landmarks. Bandera, Fredericksburg, Wimberly, Bernie maybe Luckenbach more of a tourist trap but very interesting. San Marcos New Braunfels has a ton of History and supposedly where Tejano music was born. Johnson City. Don't forget the amazing German bakeries.

Thanks for the great video as always, added to my list to go see! I work for Luminant at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power plant...it is a shame we shut down so many of our reliable load-following coal and gas plants for fair weather solar/wind plants that don't even meet demand requirements. Those closures are exactly why we had the Snowpocalypse a few years back.

Great video. How many times have I driven past Fairfield going between Dallas and Houston? I have no way to calculate it. Some might find it morbid I suppose but I enjoy walking around old cemeteries and looking at the dates that person was alive and meditate about what events they witnessed in their lives. Lake Fairfield SP looks pretty nice. I will add this one to my list. Thanks as always.

Two houses that are amazing to see I don't know if you can record or not. I've been through both of them and they are incredible particularly the berclair mansion. Priceless artifacts huge house. The other is Rockport Fulton mansion. Victoria Texas per capita was the richest city in the country if not the world for a while they have historical neighborhoods that are like nothing anywhere in Texas. Many with historical markers for information. Many are turn of the century European architecture

That area where the power plant use to be reminds me of the area my dad grew up at. It use to be a beautiful green treed area with a wonderful mixture of open fields and old oaks. Then about late 1970s a group came in and did strip mining. I drove by there 10 years ago and all you could see were the different layers of earth. If you Google earthed it it would look a lot like what you showed. It's sad how much of our planet we're destroying.

Forgive me of I suggest something that I forgot you visited. Once the world's largest Ranch and still one of the largest is the King Ranch and they have bus tours. The ranch created a town Kingsville I believe Richard King High School in Corpus is named after him. They had a Triple Crown horse that is buried there. The tour takes you by the world's largest brush clearing scraper pulled by two of the biggest caterpillar bulldozers. You cannot tore it but they take you by the big house and the carriage house. He died on his way to the doctor going to the minger hotel in San Antonio work to this day there is still the room that he stayed in I think on the top floor and I believe with furniture he used. Old San Antonio hotel lobbies would be an amazing thing to create a video over. Most of them have ghost stories

Why are there lack of broad leaves evergreen trees?

I use to work at the mine many years ago. The State Park lost its lease, and is no longer open to the public, which is a shame because of so much wildlife it held. The Park was trying to get it back, but I don't think they were able to, I am not real sure. When the mine was working and using the lake water for the steam to turn the turbines ,the water temperature was always warm even in the winter, and in the summer sometime it would be like taking a hot bath. One time I watch a man fight with a large strip bass for an hour, and lost it right before getting into his boat. Many times camping large herds of dear would come right up to your camp.Fairfield has a few good places to eat, but I find if you want the best BBQ, go to a filling station called, "Cole's One Stop". The man who use to run it, had also once ran a restaurant just off Hwy 45, and for a time he was the mayor of Fairfield. If you want relax a little, you might try "Sam's Restaurant". You can eat at a buffet, or order off a menu, then they also have a novelty shop. He didn't mention that in the picture of the jail, where the room that had a rope hanging from the ceiling, is back in the old days they did use it for hangings.

Just a little further east they grow in abundance likely due to change in soil type and perhaps increase in precipitation
