Very classy Greg. Reminds me of the open muirfield 1992. My father and I followed Greg round all 4 days. One afternoon it rained hard and we were the only ones out on the course following Greg. He came over with his umbrella and talked to us and shielded some of the vertical rain!! :-) Greg, always a hero LIV Forever

Awesome that you and dad made some good memories at Muirfield. The vertical rain never caused me problems & a 🛡 is a poor choice in extreme vertical conditions, an ☔ my choice. Those brutal horizontal seaside small craft advisory conditions, gusts to 57 mph, have shredded many of the stoutest ⛳ ☔'s. LIV forever, reminds me of the brothers Gib singing staying a alive.

Greg Norman was an enormous talent while he was playing golf on the PGA Tour. He bridged the gap between the likes of Jack, Tom, Lee, Arnie etc. as far as being a star, and then on to Tiger. Saying this, i feel those who covered golf for a living have been overly critical of Greg, and not just now, but even when he was playing. They never embraced him as their standard bearer, and i never could understand this, because he was sensationally explosive to watch. He would stand on the tee, and absolutely smash the ball with monster drives straight down the middle of the fairway, and go to his ball, only to do it again. He was a big game hunter, with a laser like mind, and his fitness level was beyond reproach for the time. When he left the game, Greg wasn't interested in being a Senior tour player. He had his mind in the world of big game business men, and the results of this are obvious with where we are today. This man does not need anyone to tell him about how great he was, unlike a lot of athletes these days. Greg is always looking for the next big thing for him to tackle! ⛳️⛳️⛳️

Brooks and Rory have become particularly close of late given both live not far from each other in FL and I believe their wives are close. Thus, I suspect between he and Rahm they've given Rory plenty of information and insight as to the inner workings of LIV and what its stated goal and mission is, which is not to destroy the PGA Tour, but pose an alternative to it with a global and franchise (team) focus. This isn't some hostile takeover of men's professional golf as the PGAT, DP World Tour and others would have you believe. In fact, LIV was and still is fine having its contracted players participate in events on other tours when there isn't a LIV event. If they chose, the PGAT could have Brooks, Rahm, Bryson, D.J. Reed, Gooch, etc. play in The Players and some of the signature events to make them truly special, but pride prevents them from doing so. Thus, we are where we are because of it.

Please talk to the "production team" about setting up a way for fans to watch their favorite player on LIV for ALL 18 holes. This was done on the PGA Tour for about 1-2 seasons. In other words, let fans follow somebody like Bryson DeChambeau for all 18 LIV holes in a tournament. Give LIV fans the option to follow their favorite player more closely during a LIV tournament!! Thanks!1

I have a couple of suggestions for the team portion in 2024: Could be one or even both. During the regular season, have all four scores count in round 3 just like in the Team Championship Final. That would raise the stakes to a whole new level. Rounds 1 & 2 remain at three scores counting. Have a mid-season Team only event with the same format as the Team Championship. All the prize money for that event goes to the teams (no individual prize money), each team receives extra points (based on finishing position) vs a regular LIV tournament
@DanielSong39
@DanielSong39 8 ай бұрын
I like the 2-3-4 format 2 scores count round 1, 3 scores count round 2, 4 scores count round 3 Oh and create a few more blowup holes. One of the best parts about the team competition is seeing some guy at +5 trying to break 80 so he won't kill his team score

Interesting how PGA has reacted to LIV as opposed to how Greg & Co. have maturely responded to the desperate whining of the PGA. The PGA reaction has always struck me as the way a child reacts to being caught doing something (many things?) wrong. I would like to add that I enjoy the LIV format, especially the shotgun start and excellent coverage/non-stop action of their broadcasts. It is FAR more entertainment than the boring PGA format, while eliminating much of the weather as a variable during a tournament. I haven't really "bought in" to the team format, but that's me, I enjoy watching college football more than the pros, yet I don't really count myself a fan of any particular team. "Range Goats" is, however, the team I am watching, minus the emotional involvement. I just think the name is a lot more fun than than the other names. Again, LIV is a much more entertaining format than we have been forced to watch for many years. Way to go, Greg and the whole LIV franchise, Saudis certainly included. IMO the PGA has treated the rest of the world of golf in an arrogant, dismissive way for far too long.

Go LIV! I wish it would lose some of the party golf atmosphere and align a little more with the traditions of the game. The final few groups battling it out on Sunday afternoon is what most want to see. The shotgun starts with everyone playing different holes in thee closing stretch, makes it hard to follow at times. I want LIV to take over but please give us the transitional Sunday down to the wire, side by side, finishes.

Shotgun starts are the best and only way it should be done, its great for bad weather days and most of the time its the top 6 after round 2 that are battling it out on the 18th on round 3. If someone from 7th or further back is in contention, then its clear on the scoreboards around the venue, who to follow. F#@% Traditional ways
