+Happy Dragneel People ship a lot of things, and that is just their preference. The manga/anime hints at the major ships the most (Natsu x Lucy, Erza x Jellal, Juvia x Gray, etc) and they are most likely to become canon. People can still ship whichever characters they want though, which is why some people ship Lucy x Gray, Erza x Natsu, and so on.

Most cosplayers are female. In the Vampire Knight musical, (an anime btw, if you haven't heard of that one but it got turned into a musical like Kuroshitsuji), all of the cast were female when there was only three main female characters and like, four female extras. The rest were male characters played by females.
