When Lucy shed tears at the end of this opening, my heart was destroyed. Cuz I realized it is the Lucy & Natsu from the future (still in their timeline). Everyone else is dead. NaLu I find them amazing background wise since Lucy has always craves adventure when she was younger due to being neglected by her father. Natsu perfectly fills in this void with his eccentricity. Furthermore since he was abandoned Natsu has come to cherish those around him immensely going to no end to help them. For Natsu background he wasn’t taught to be a “normal” human. Lucy would be a great choice since she keeps him in check, accepts him, lax (not tie his eccentricity down), and shows him affection like no other
