As a human species, we are starved of appreciation. I think it's something that our consumerist society has slowly capitalized on overtime. Gratitude is such a simple way to find more presence and joy in the everyday simple things. I make films all about gratitude and slow living because it has made such a profound impact on my life - leaving big city life and fast ambitions and slowing down, being appreciative for the simple, small delights of being alive on Earth. There is so much to be grateful for. If only we slow down and notice.

Wonderful message. One of the things I do every morning is write a letter to God. Most lines in it begin with "Thank You". I agree that being thankful makes you less inclined to hold too tightly to "things" and value sunrises, sunsets, breezes, and the less materialistic much more.

Your videos are bringing so much peace into my life ...... I started following Dr.Greger videos and , I'm into the process of learning to become a whole food plant based person . It's harder for me , having been a bodybuilder all my life eating tons of meat . Above all, I'm improving my spiritual dimension and mindset on life with your videos . I tend to be a negative /realistic person who can judge others and putting too much pressure on myself wanting to achieve my goals but I find it to be very destructive . Meanwhile , life is passing by VERY quick and I'm missing out on the real important things to appreciate . Thank you !

I have a great, small group of friends who support me and my spiritual practice and ancestral work has always been my anchor. I think one of the strengths that helped me as a child, and definitely as an adult, is being a survivor and not staying a place of victim. I do call her on her actions. Lovely, as always, to have this brief time with you each week, especially to see the rain-it’s been months since our last rain and I am missing it. I also find that practicing gratitude is a wonderful way to get us out of the critical mind and into the heart mind. Consumerism teaches us to always want what someone else has, not to be grateful for what we do have, and gratitude is one of the very first lessons I felt was important to teach my children for this reason. We are surrounded by the advertisements of the next best shiny object when we often have bounty in so many places, regardless of how many physical possessions we have. I try to end my day with a gratitude reflection that includes physical and non-physical things for which I am grateful. Wishing you a beautiful and gratitude-filled week!
