Ronaldo started playing as a striker when Jose Mourinho played him in the No.9 position in the final against Barcelona and he was a winger originally and then later on in 2014 he got a career ending knee injury which forced him to play as a striker from then on. The guy played phenomenal the first season, our top goalscorer and without his help, united would've looked even worse than they were. I love CR7 so much. He's just so deadly in front of goal. I see chances by all our other players that look good, look golden, but somehow they either mess up or allow a defender or goalie to make a save everytime. Why Ronaldo was not used by ETH is a big mystery. He was the fittest, hungriest player in the squad. All he wanted was to start and play every game. And to think ETH preferred Martial and later Weghorst to fix centre forward trouble is ludicrous. In some ways I blame ETH, for he had the world finest striker and he didn't want anything to do with him. And then Glazers stabbed him in the back by denying proper eplacement for Ronaldo and Cavani. Any other manager will play Ronaldo than 70% fit Martial, or clueless slow buffoon Weghorst.

bro Ronaldo didn't play good this season. I've watched every single game, Martial had a better start to the season to him (reminder, Martial actually had a better goal per 90 ratio than Haaland at one point but got injured), that's why he wasn't used. Is as simple as that.

It was quite obvious he wasn't gonna be a starter for too long anyway, you can't build your team on a player who's close to the ending part of his career, especially Man United, which is currently rebuilding, they must use younger player who will stay there for years.
