My wife died of lung cancer a while back. It was at the high point of the pandemic and I wasn't allowed to stay with her after she was taken off of life support and she died alone. I'm haunted by the thought of her struggling to breathe. I sometimes wake up in the night and for just a moment I can feel her breathe. Somehow this song settles me into a bare able sadness and an acceptance of those things in life that I can not change. Such à beautiful song and a beautiful lady who sings it.

It made me so sad, also reminds me of the young crush I had on someone back then... always wanted to slow-dance with her but never had the guts to ask... Beautiful voice and romantic lyrics over country guitars mixed with alternative rock sensibilities. Very, very simple Verse-Chorus song form designed to deliver the chorus melody as many times as possible. Doesn't even have a bridge, instead substitutes another half-chorus in its place, lol. This was the Number-1 song of 2000, and I was about to finish middle school.

This song still crushes it in 2024. This video back then was probably a bit ahead of its time in terms of putting a beautiful woman out there pushing the sexy music video envelope but IMO … it’s extremely well done & tastefully executed. Not to far at all & truly encapsulates the song perfectly & Faith Hills beauty both physically & vocally. It’s not only perfect but it’s also timeless!

Yeah seriously. I only knew about her because of a south park reference and until now didn't know the music. She kind of looks like Blake lively in this but somehow...hotter?

Heard this song for many years always thought it was pretty but never really felt it. Then found love rather late in life and Bam! “There’s nothing left to prove Baby all we need is just to Be” very powerful.

If you appreciate Faith Hill’s music as much as I do, then I suggest you checking out Eileen Carey. “Meet Me Halfway” reminds me a little of Faith and her music. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ2sk6uAgLtqr8U
