My mother in law always added some sliced green olives to her spaghetti sauce. It adds a lot of flavor.

I knew there was a reason I like you. We only use Angel hair pasta for spaghetti at our house. 😉

I lived with Italians for over a year when I was a teen. The onions were just barely browned in olive oil and then the garlic. Tomato sauce, whole crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. The paste key to the right consistency. Always use chopped fresh parsley. Add Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese thickens it. Salt and a pinch or two of red pepper flakes and a bit of brown sugar. Never green peppers. Make meatballs with same ingredients except tomatoes and soak dry French bread soaked in milk. Add eggs, 1 to a pound of hamburger. This keeps😊 them tender. Fry til golden and add to sauce and cook for several hours. Don’t rinse your pasta. The starch helps sauce stick.

I would like to see a video of just you packing the 3 squares in the single meal pouch. I have trouble getting 3 in without crushing the contents. Love your videos.

Thanks, i show me packing at least one bag in every video I produce.

i use to make homemade spaghetti sauce all the time. I would cut up pepperoni in small pieces and cook it with the burger. I would also add my onions. I would put a dash of chili powder in it. I'm not exactly a big fan of lots of chunky tomatoes so I would either use tomato sauce or tomato paste, sometimes both for the deep color. add a touch of sugar. and I'm a garlic-aholic when it comes to my spaghetti, YOurs sure does look delicious. guess I'll have to try it with your ingredients.

I just realized you used a pocket knife to open that Mylar pouch, which would be correct for a hiker who wouldn’t carry a scissors, but it showed that the Top Mylar bags don’t have a notch on the sides for opening. The notch on Harvest Right bags never help, 7 mil is pretty difficult to tear open and the notch isn’t very deep, but at least they tried. Thank you for specifically notating it had been 2 weeks later! It sure looked good. You succeeded in making me hungry again! I mentioned this on another’s channel and noticed it on yours too. Your videos need to have a “like and subscribe” request.

Oh, I thought that you had mentioned in one of your comments that you had purchased some of the Top Mylar bags. Yes they have notches in them. My old hands aren't strong enough to rip them.

Thanks for a brilliant video and a delicious looking recipe. What is the style and size of the bag you’re putting the spaghetti into? It looks like a good gusseted sturdy size for taking on camping hikes. Also, what size oxygen absorbers do you put in that size bag? Cheers sincerely Ray from Seattle. 👍👍

I get my bags from topmylar.com these are the "single meal" pouches. I love them and have been buying them by the case for years. I used 500cc O2's but that is only because I get them in packs of ten. I used to use 300cc which would be sufficient but topmylar.com no longer sells them in packs of ten.

H8 John, Does regular spaghetti pasta not do as well as Angel Hair Pasta?
@JohnInBibs9 күн бұрын
It can take a bit longer to rehydrate. Maybe 10 or more minutes is my experience. Angle hair is ready almost instantly. In my opinion

At the 10 minute point it looks like you are making tomato soup with beef and other ingredients. When I see Americans eating spaghetti, I wonder are you eating spaghetti or sauce with spaghetti? I bought one of the sealers you liked to. It only works for about five bags and then stops sealing until I increase the heat. It does not maintain the heat. Why don't you have your brother, that lives with you, do the taste test also? It would add the quality of the videos.
