I have question or maybe I missed it. When downloaded it from canva and I sent it to a friend she said only page showed up but when I tested all hyperlinks worked what could have possibly have happened?

@@MrJmccullough72 I'm afraid it's hard for me to help you troubleshoot. But please make sure you don't flatten the PDF when downloading it. Make sure there are no elements on top of the hyperlinks. And I'd refresh the page and download again

I love the way you explain it. I have a question how the end will use it. Once you download it into pdf file you can write on it even without adobe pro

You can download your planner as a PDF file and then import on note-taking apps like Goodnotes and any other app on your tablet that allows you to annotate on a PDF file. You can then use an Apple pencil for the iPad or a stylus to write on the digital planner or create textoxes on the spaces in the planner to type in. If you want to create a fillable PDF planner, then you'd need to use external platforms like PDFescape.com to add fillable fields in your PDF planner.

The idea is for the planner to look like it’s resting on the tabletop, hence the background. You can click on the background image and hit the delete button

Hi Faith. Good day to you! I was able to follow step by step. I have tested my digital planner before download it and it worked fine. All the hyperlinks worked. Then I downloaded it (Pdf standard with 'flatten pdf' box unchecked). When I open the pdf, all the links on the index page worked fine except 'home' tab and all the side tabs. I have refreshed the page, clear cache on my browser, but the issue persisted. Do you know why? Thank you!

Thank you for watching! What do you mean by linking multiple notes pages? You'd basically have to create a hyperlink for each page that you want to be linked to. So you'd need to create multiple tabs or make use of the index page to place all your hyperlinks there to help the user easily navigate from one section to another in the planner.

Hi, first of all , thanks for your detailed explaining, I just want to comment regarding using Canva elements, as a user of Canva pro, it is allowed to use any element/pic/backgroun....etc in Canva for commercial use as long as we modify it and use it in a product (digital product as planner, POD product ...etc). What is not allowed is to sell their pic/elements....etc as is which means re-sell it to another party, this is not allowed, but if we used it in something we design and create , yes we can.........

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll work on that. But meanwhile, the steps would actually be the same. Just place the binder ring in the middle and two pages on the side. The tips and tricks on design and hyperlinking would still apply. =)

There seems to be a limit to the number of elements in one project. 1200 elements if I'm not wrong. For example if you have used many individual rings to create a binder ring and you duplicate that on every page, you'd end up with too many elements in your project. What you'd need to do is to save the entire binder ring as one PNG file and re-upload onto your project so that would count as one element. Also, if you are using stock images, the file size can be pretty large and it will also affect the project size. I'd suggest compressing the image size using squoosh.app before uploading the image onto Canva to use it. Hope this helps!

GREAT tutorial. so easy to follow and many great tips. Thank you! One question- How would someone navigate between the "Notes" pages if there is only one hyperlink in the Home page???

You can create as many hyperlinks as you want but there's limited spaces for tabs at the sides of the planners that's why we create the index page. Any other pages would be navigated by swiping just like how you would 'flip' the pages in a regular PDF file on your tablet. The idea of the hyperlinks is to help you 'jump' from one section to another in a shorter time without having to swipe/flip through tens or hundreds of pages.

We… well … I guess I can only speak for myself, but I’m amazed you can even HAVE a digital planner, let alone how to make one! We used just hallmark calendars which were tiny (maybe 3x3”) and were free at the register ! Thank you so much for sharing this detailed and thorough process with us. very nice tutorial, the best if honestly. But i still have question. How users will write in there? Like i saw one video where girl showed, that we have to go to pdfescape and put inputs in our digital planner, is it right? Because its makes me crazy if we have to do that ((((

You can download your planner as a PDF file and then import on note-taking apps like Goodnotes and any other app on your tablet that allows you to annotate on a PDF file. You can then use an Apple pencil for the iPad or a stylus to write on the digital planner or create textoxes on the spaces in the planner to type in. If you want to create a fillable PDF planner, then you'd need to use external platforms like PDFescape.com to add fillable fields in your PDF planner.

Thank you so much for this tutorial , it was so helpful ❤ I am currently working on creating my planner using Canva. however , I have run into a problem .In fact,I have completed up to page 56 of my planner design, but when I attempt to duplicate a page, I receive an error message that my design is too voluminous. I was wondering if you could provide me some advice on how to resolve this issue and continue with my planner design. Thank you in advance❣

Hello - I'm not sure if you got any answers yet, but I wanted to help. I had this problem as well. Canva told me: "Limit your design to not more than 1200 "ELEMENTS". Although the current page limit we have per design is 300 pages, the media content (text, elements, images, etc.) also takes part in this limitation. As a workaround, you may try downloading pages as PNG, then uploading them back to Canva. This will ensure it will only be counted as one media. We are continuously improving our editor performance, so please stay tuned for our future updates in Canva." I hope this helps.

There seems to be a limit to the number of elements in one project. For example if you have used many individual rings to create a binder ring and you duplicate that on every page, you'd end up with too many elements in your project. What you'd need to do is to save the entire binder ring as one PNG file and re-upload onto your project so that would count as one element. Also, if you are using stock images, the file size can be pretty large and it will also affect the project size. I'd suggest compressing the image size using squoosh.app before uploading the image onto Canva to use it. Hope this helps!
