Ok, I do have a couple issues with the validity of your test. First off, Android is a Linux OS. Linux uses kernel modules, not drivers. To fake reporting to an app, a kernel module won't work and is overly excessive and complicated to code just for this purpose. The ideal way to fake reporting to an app is to embed the code into the android libraries itself and return the values when an app requests permission to access hardware information. Secondly, if the software doesn't recognize the CPU / GPU, it would either report unknown or guess depending on how the developer coded the app. Also, the MediaTek chipsets have very low benchmark scores to begin with. A dual or quad core Qualcomm SoC based on A73 cores will outperform 10 core mediatek. Now I purchased the upgraded 6GB RAM/64GB ROM from the same vendor. I ran some tests of my own. Being a Linux software developer and a distribution maintainer, I can tell you how to verify the hardware information manually. Here are the steps you should take to verify manually through the core of the OS instead of relying on libraries that call libraries for permissions.... (1) download a terminal. This will provide direct access to the Linux base OS that Android runs on top of. (2) verify cpu with the following command #cat /proc/cpuinfo running this command, I see that my SoC reports MT6797 with 3 cores. 1st core has 4 A53 threads, second core has 4 A53 threads, and third core has 2 A72 threads. Since most Linux reports threads as cores, it is adding up all 10 threads as a core. Linux desktop apps will report 10 core as this is "technically" a core by functionality and Android apps inherit this same reporting style as it is afterall a Linux operating system. Now it's also important to know that the CPU count starts as 0. So, CPU#1 is Core 0, 4x thread count, CPU#2 is Core 1, 4x thread count, CPU#3 is Core 2, 2x thread count. 3 core, 10 thread SoC matching specs of MT6797. (3)The proper command to correctly identify the GPU is glxinfo however they fail to include the mesa-utils package inside this ROM. So, and alternative is lspci but lspci is also not installed. I attempted to read the device tree directly using cat /dev/bus/devices however this requires root access, and I am not rooting this tablet today. So, GPU is unverified however since GPU is baked into SoC, I am confident that since verifying the MT6797, the GPU is actually a Mali T-880 as per specs of the MT6797 and reported by graphical apps (which probably guess by identifying the CPU as their primary method). (4) Disk size: now this is where it gets weird. Run the command #df -h to view hard drive and partition map. It shows that they are using a RAID configuration to duplicate data on the ROM. This is how android extends to SD card in Android version 5 and up. So I can see that both media and data partitions have 25GB each. Added up, they total 50GB and add in the tmpfs, cache, and possible Linux SWAP that sometimes isn't even reported, you have about 63GB and some change, consistent with a 64GB size. However, your usable space for app installed is 25GB. This is why your tablet is reporting less space. In a more ideal situation, you could have everything on the "/" or root partition and it would show up as a giant 50GB drive instead. Not sure why they did this, but some engineer probably thought he had a bright idea to separate them just to say he did something to justify his 5 cents per hour chinese job. To put this into perspective, partitions on modern POSIX operating systems don't show up as a drive with a letter like they do in windows, they are mapped to the directory structure and appear the same as a folder. The folder where a partition is mapped is referred to as a mount point. So when an external SD card is placed in the system, Android gives the option to format as a removable device, or as permanent storage. If extending internal system storage, one of the RAID partitions (probably the media mountpoint) will formatted as a mdm RAID block device, then the RAID partition will extend onto it making it a striped partition spanning two devices. This is how RAID works. Striped means that it has separate data in both devices, and both add up as one whole device. Most people think of RAID as duplication because it's commonly used as a failsafe backup system when in fact, RAID has many modes suitable for different situations. (5) The last is RAM. Don't use an Android program to test RAM. Android apps run in a VM. Apps ask for permission to do tasks via the manifest. The VM also gives limitations on RAM usage per app. Also, this doesn't count the amount of RAM in use by other Apps and the Android system itself. Android also has to be battery efficient, so it's scheduler uses a policy that flushes RAM from apps not in full screen mode to save battery life. The better way to test this is by creating a bash script using terminal. But terminal itself is an Android app too, so you have to execute the task as a "background task" and pipe output to a text file in real time so that you can review it's last status before it crashes after you restart the tablet. The & symbol at the end of the command places it's execution in background and protects it from the main executing app from closing (or crashing when it reaches it's allowed RAM limitation allotted by configuration). All in all, the 6G/64G variant is what it claims to be, but be warned, the MediaTek SoC's do not stack up to Kyrin, Qualcomm, or NVIDIA Tegra. You're better off investing in a brand name tablet for better quality and performance such as the chrome tabs that google sells on their website. They may be more expensive, but there is a massive difference in performance and visual quality of the screen and GPU. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Sorry about the long post, I hope this information helps in the future, and I hope and look forward to seeing what results you get if you use these methods to verify the tablet.

Typically a review is done in an unbiased manner. This is not a review, it is very amateurish attempt at trying to be funny. The message that the "reviewer" is trying to convey is that this particular tablet is being sold under false pretenses. It is widely known that translated instructions are often very poor English. Making fun of the attempt accomplishes nothing. Reviewer spends more time pointing out meaningless things like the add-on OTG cable being loose inside the packaging. The main message in this review should have focussed on the fact that this particular tablet was not what is was claimed to be. He also should have focused more on how he got compensated for the fraudulent transaction. What is the company name that sold him this tablet, what was their response. Aliexpress is essentially just a webstore application with thousands of "stores". What did they tell the reviewer about how they are going to deal with that store and are they going investigate similar counterfeit items? And finally, if you are going to use your cell to record things sped the $3 for a mini tripod so you can open a simple box with two hands, instead of the overly awkward attempt shown.

Alan Thomas apparently English is not your strong suit. Anyone who has purchased anything from Aliexpress knows how they deal with disputes. It is well documented on their site. If you purchased from Aliexpress and received something that was not what it claimed, and if you filed a very simple dispute, you got every penny back, and got to keep that item. So how did you lose on this? Nice try on the incorrect use of "ignorant hypocrite", shame you are unaware of their proper use in English. For the record I have purchased over 100 items off of Aliexpress, having filed disputes on 4 items that were misrepresented. I still have those items, and received full refunds as well. So I am speaking from knowledge.
@pirpirpir-os7ms6 жыл бұрын
22099dscott, apparently you are an idiot and can't recognize English when you see it. Further, dumbass, you assume I got my tablet from AliExpress, and I did not. I have bought quite a lot from AliExpress and a number of other vendors from China as well; this is the only product which I've found to be misrepresented. I'm not complaining about the value - it was cheap, a fraction of the cost of most 10" tablets, so I'm not compelled to return it in any event. I got it working well enough by rooting it and going through extensive cleaning and wiping each use.. good enough for me for the money. This review serves a useful purpose in warning the casual buyer and less-than-experienced computer user that it might not serve him so well; perhaps keep looking, spend a little more money on a better model, perhaps wait for the product line to mature a little more. Mine is a slightly earlier generation, earlier OS, probably a closeout dump, cheaper yet. This is a comparatively recent manufacturing niche for China and is rapidly evolving. I don't doubt that the new models are better. The review applies to most of the Mediatek tablets; caveat emptor, snafu.

Ok, first of all, if you read the description on the AliExpress website you knew you were getting a generic product so I don't know why you seemed insulted. And secondly, you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap you're going to get cheap. And even if the tablet isn't a decacore tablet, if it's quad core instead, you're still getting a quad core tablet for $100 cheaper than buying a name brand. And third, I don't know any other tablets out there that have 64gb storage for this price point.

My point is AliExpress has gotten a lot better in being transparent about the product they sell. They should clearly state what they sell and not fool consumers like us. And I get the point of the video that it may have been false advertisement from them - but comparing to a $700 tab to this is no comparison. This product works as advertised - with a price tag so low, I wouldn’t complain.

I actually appreciated this format review as this also happened to me. There's alot of emotion to it that you don't get with a fact only review that's been edited the crap out of. I bought 3 tablets of something like this myself from a place called Wangpad by the name of Kingsley dong. I should have realised by the name of the seller but they were so friendly. all tablets have broken within 6 months and do not load. the first lasted the longest but would short the battery and then the port also bent. the second wouldn't turn on after 2 weeks that I sent back. and the third finally experienced then same issue 6 months afterwards. There was no ability to repair these. I sent one back to them at a major cost and they just kept it. All specs were faked: the camera, ram, storage, CPUs. Only the screen looked like it was what they stated. for the price I could have gotten a brand name teclast with accurate specs that actually works, lasts, has customer service, and performs better than a faked specd one. the lesson learnt is not only to not buy expensive things there also go for one of the aliexpress trusted brands like the teclast p10 or t10 or the aldocube free young x7. the build quality of these are much higher. better insulation, much better batteries and speakers etc, properly soldered. The correct chips at the correct price, very helpful customer services. so I bought a brand name drill from aliexpress and they didn't send me the batteries but we agreed to build my own because they would have been stopped at shipment and even though they completely screwed up what I was asking for on several occasions they hung in there with me to give me all the components I originally asked for and so it worked out in the end and is actually a very good drill that I now know how to repair inside and out. So stick with trusted brands for the expensive stuff or just save up and buy the expensive stuff locally.. as for the cheap stuff also often things only had to look like the genuine article but easily would show up smaller the instant expected, unfinished or would break or fail, or arrived dead or with chips etc. one bluetooth speaker was advertised as stereo but only had one moni speaker. there are alot of things I have been happy with but it's a hunt. and it doesn't make your life any better in the end.. always miserably searching for some gadget that doesnt make life any easier when you have it.... the drones are fun though!

The teclast would not have been any better nor lasted any longer. Mine lasted all of two weekS before failing and falling apart. @@JakeGutteridge Have you considered the fact that most HWINFO type of App are incorrect and themselves FAKES? My 10.1 is really 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. Most HWINFO type of App wrongly thinks it is 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM because they incorrectly assume a "block size" 4 times smaller. My new 8" Android 11 is identified by some program as Android 5.1 but some other program as Android 11. For example, Microsoft Word won't install (requires Android 6 or above) but Brave Brower that requires Android 7 will install since Brave identifies it as Android 11. I don't think China "unbranded" makers know how to fake specs. They had just used 4.4 or 5.1 open source code as bases to modify and make their own Android versions INDEPENDENTLY of Google. So parts of the code became different from what Google specifies.

This is why I only buy my "cheap" chinese knockoff from Amazon and only the tablet that Amazon hold in their warehouse (which, usually, are part of the "Free Shipping" deal for any order above 35$). Here's the reason why I do this: When Amazon is holding an item in their warehouses, it means they endorse the shipping, including customers' returns. If something is "wrong" with the tablet such as false information on the selling page, opening a dispute on Amazon gives you, the customers, the upper hand in either getting your money back. Amazon is taking false advertising on their platform really seriously and if you point out with proof and screenshot (in a dispute with a seller) that the tablet was tempered with to display fake information, the Seller do get in super hot water up. Why am I buying those cheap knockoff when there are 100 better options? Well, I'm a game developer and I find those perfect as example of the "worse scenario" debug devices. If my game works on those, they will work on those "100 better options" out there. ;)
@creationsmaxo5 жыл бұрын
I got to reply to my own post because it might seems like I just got one of the fake knock-off table for free. Basically, I bought a tablet for 119.99$ on Amazon.ca (I'm from Canada) and it was one of those tablet hold in a local Amazon Warehouse because it was delivered in like 38 hours even though I used the Free Shipping option. I knew it was a Chinese Knockoff, but I was hoping at least, even if it cheap grade, to have the right stuff in the tablet. It was stated as an OctoCore (8 Cores) MT6580 2.5Ghz with 4GB of RAM and 64 internal Storage. Obviously, for that price, either it's a modded OS scam or, in very few cases, an actual Chinese knockoff build from a illegally re-opened closed factory located in China. (A majority of those cheap knockoff are made like that. A factory for an older model is closed and bought as-is by an Chinese investor who relauch the production without the actual official brand.) Still, in the same situation as shown in this video, I used an APP that test and detect the device's actual specs and the result was that it was a DualCore MediaTek, so probably an MT657X something. Obviously, far from the OctoCore announced on the sale page. (A contradiction would be about how it's stated to have an OctaCore @2.5Ghz MT6580 while MediaTek state that the MT6580 is a QuadCore @ 1.3Ghz.) Basically, an older Android Phone CPU installed in a Tablet frame format. It's clearly shows in the device as the device OS is considering the Tablet as a "Phone" and not as a "Tablet" like any official brands does. After testing the Internal Memory, it's also clear that it didn't had 64GB of Flash Memory, but actual 16GB (which is approx. 12.4GB once you remove the OS' reserved and installation data). To put it bluntly, that device is easily identifiable as another device which I found while I was looking around. So, first thing I did was do the APP tests, save the results on another PC, wipe-clean the Tablet of any of my own data/login and contact the seller through Amazon explaining that I received the wrong product and asking him for a solution. 100% professional message explaining things in details with screenshots/data of what's actually in the tablet as asking for the seller's input. In case people wonder why I didn't just ask for a refund and returns it, well that's because this COULD be a mistake. The seller could have send a wrongly labelled device to the Amazon Warehouse. If such a thing would have occurred, the seller could activate the request through Amazon (at its own expense for shipping fees) to replace my tablet with the real deal, if it exists. So I would send back the tablet to Amazon and the seller would send me a replacement. That would have been the perfect scenario for me actually. But, what followed was a silence of 8 hours without any reply until the seller replied "Thank You" through Amazon's private messages. At first, I was like "What?" and I noticed Amazon that this message didn't help me at all with my issue. Just in case, I went to check my Order's page on Amazon and to my surprises, there's a green line under the total of the Order called "Refund" and it has 119.99$ in green. I was like "Okaaaay..?" and to my surprise there are no indication or notice that I have to return the product. When I look at the Return Order listing on my account, there are no mention of any awaiting returns from my part. So, right now, I'm waiting a 48 hours time to confirm if the seller truly just refunded me the Tablet without asking for a return or if there are some system delays involved between the Amazon Systems. I also wait to see if the refund on my CC really occurs. Before contacting the seller, I did post a 1 star review to the product's (probably fake) list of 3x 5/5 stars reviews explaining my experience too. (That review is pending right now.) If the seller did proceed on a Return, I should get a message (or see the return order) in the Return List on Amazon within the next 24 hours. If not, there that means that either the Seller or Amazon refunded me the tablet without asking for the tablet's return. It wouldn't be strange if this was done by Amazon because they wouldn't take the Tablet back since it's source of problems as they can't resell it since it's false advertisement. It's also understandable if the Seller simply evaded the issue by refund & ignore. Applying for a return would cost him approx. 15$ and he would get 1 product back that he knew he might never sell and there might be even an investigation making him lost all his inventory through Amazon. Refunding me while letting me keep the tablet means he lost 127$, but can keep selling his stuff without Amazon locking it up until an investigation is finished.

@@creationsmaxo tremendous bible, then you should buy a fake product and return it so that amazon penalizes the seller, interesting. hey what was the application you used to know the real specifications? please
@creationsmaxo2 жыл бұрын
@@nikoantrei1892 The app I use the most is called "Fake Device Test" by "Appsolutely Unique" There are quite a few other that works as well, but the thing I really liked about that app is that you can easily fit all the relevant info about the hardware in a single screenshot (or at least all the info needed for a dispute with the seller). One thing I like about Amazon's way of handling things is that some sellers will attempt a fake return requests while issuing a seller's refunds to avoid the false advertising claim. Basically, they send a PM that includes an P.O. box address to where the item should be shipped back. It's not covered by Amazon so its shipping is at the customer's expense (no Amazon shipping slip) and the refund is done by the seller and not through the refund claim. (Yeah, sellers has the option to refund any sales.) When a seller does such a thing, you have absolutely no obligation to return the item and you still keep the refund. This is also part of the EUA all sellers agreed to when registering a seller's account.

It's still better than every entry level tab around. All of the big brands only offer 720p, same ram amd storage compared to this, which would be about 2gb ram and 24gb storage and 1080p screen. Plus pick it up on ebay for half the price of the others with PayPal protection for at least 6 months. All companies don't bother to update their tabs unless its a high end one. So probably better getting one of these unless you want to spend around $500

Guys, there is nothing overheating or anything with this tablet, it just a scam it is worth only $20.. they faked the specs.. try uninstalling CPU app or antutu app it wont because it is a modified app. install device spec or battery app or geekbench app they all show different data.. another major thing is it supports only 3G, if you go to mobile connection settings there is no option to select 4G. i fought back with credit card to get dispute charge.. back lets see what ali express going to do. .. i wasted 3 months fighting this.

Google isn't going to "auto detect" and correct for the actual CPU/GPU on a tablet using Google search. It is simply auto suggesting, based on popularity of the search; (AKA: what's trending.) You're clowning. As it happens, MediaTech is clearing it's stockpile of these Helio X20 SoC's, and the knock off Chinese Tablet makers are buying them up big time because they are so cheap. But, these are secondary market Helio's. Many of them have defects that prevent their being sold on the main stream market (for name brand phones and tablets). Even my Chuwi tablet's Helio X20 doesn't have a working NFC radio, which is a feature it is supposed to have.) Intel does the same thing with it's "defective" mainstream CPU's. They re-brand them though as "Celeron" CPU's. Sometimes, they just have a damaged core and turn them off, (typically in pairs.) Sometimes there may be unstable cores at the designed frequency clock and so they will under clock them. If the cores all work fine at 2.1GHz, but cause system crashes, etc. at the designed clock speed of 2.67, they will just lock the cores to 2.1 (Poof! A Celeron is born!) Many of these Helio X20 SoC's have defective 4G/LTE modems. So, they market the tablets as "3G" or GSM/WCDMA.) It is very likely your tablet has a secondary market Helio X20. The RAM though is definitely not 4GB. If the tablet is showing 1.8GB then it is just 2GB (with some set aside for the system.) I bought a 10.1" tablet on Wish, just the other day, that is supposed to have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. I'm now hoping it has what it's advertised as having.

According to CPU-Z, this tablet has the Mali T720 GPU. If you look that up, the Mali T720 comes with the Mediatek MT6753 processor which is an octa-core CPU. You can find this information if you go to the Mediatek website and look up MT6753. So, yes, the seller on AliExpress lied about their listing being a deca-core tablet. But at $125 this octa-core tablet's price is fair. If you go on Amazon, there are many octa-core tablets that look just like this one at the same price. If you don't want to get ripped off and feel like you're not getting what you pay for, just don't buy Chinese unbranded tablets; buy a name brand instead!

Hey guess what it probably does have four gigs and you have 2 gigs free when you check your specs it's probably using the extra two for on-board video and if you had anything to do you should probably upgrade the operating system from the 6.0 or whatever you're using from the dinosaur age they tell you to update it. Also when you spend 50 bucks on a 4 gig ram Android tablet with a bigger screen than 4in you're going to be super sorry that it's not reading all 10 cores because it doesn't have enough RAM to compute. By the way what makes you a motherboard specialist you can clearly take the x 20 and put it on any motherboard with any amount of RAM and any operating system. It's only not reading the system specs probably because you didn't update it. Or also it's your fault for spending $125 on a 4 gig RAM tablet that is sold at Best Buy for the same price and is raining oh I don't know the newest technology. I gave this video a thumbs down because you do not know what you're talkin about
