Iqra’ in Malay is “baca”. It has the same meaning of read and recite. No issue arises from Malay translation. To literally translate into English might not have the same meaning. Anyone that’s have the confusion on the translation must refer the original Quran written in Arabic. Which is Christian doesn’t have the original Aramaic Bible, they only have Koine Greek the earliest
