Fake Bake Basics 101 (Sponge Cake Tutorial)

In this video, I share the basics of fake baking and what you will need to make your very first fake cake. I also share a quick cake made with two sponges towards the end. The video is a bit long but I try to cover as much as I can to get you started. This video is wonderful and you are a gem! I'm so excited to learn about Red Devil spackling. I have been using DAP for 2 years now and hated that it is gray. Adding white paint for whip cream can be a challenge to get the right consistency. THANK YOU! I just ordered it from Amazon so now I can finish about 6 milkshakes that are patiently waiting for whip cream.

After a couple of months of watching videos and seeing people’s creations in FB groups, I finally for the nerve to make my first fake bakes this week…. Some mug toppers. I thought they would be an easy way to get started. I found this video extremely helpful, especially with your recommendations on where to get the pure white spackle, how to make nuts, your fav icing tips, the basic supplies to get when first starting out, and your comments about protecting your plumbing. I actually washed everything from my mug topper making day in my sink, so I will try not to do that again! Thanks for potentially saving my plumbing!
