Fake Banana Split DIY

For this project you will need lightweight spackle,banana mold,fake cherries,resin,corn starch,corn cob bedding and craft paint.Have fun!

Ms. Dawn I love this so much ! As a child as soon as church was over we would rush to a tiny restaurant named “Joes Icecream parlor”in Easley South Carolina. They made these exact Banana splits in a plastic boat 🛶 and I would take the boat home and play with it in the 🛁 tub and with my Barbies ! I want to make this for them as a display and as a thank you for 50 years of service to our community! They are family run and precious people! Thank you for sharing your talents sweet lady !

Hi Dawn. Another winner. I love that you use pkaster paris. I thought i was the only one who still used it. Everyone serms to only be using that foam airdry clay. I don’t but it’s very simple!You mix your plaster of plaster as directed on the box then pour it in the mold ,tap it and let it set for a bit!

I never had that problem, but I suggest testing it out first on a very small amount of spackle

Do you ever use alcohol inks or mica powders to color your resin? And, yes the Thick-it is expensive so will use baking soda next time. Thankyou.

I have used a red ink and I didn’t like it!I ordered a resin thickener to try and it was a decent price.I’m going to use it on my reds as I think it may give it a clearer look.But as for other shades I’ll definitely continue with corn starch !
