Fake cards have gotten more prevalent

I Dont get why some people hate collectors when it comes to a trading card game. I Get why people dont like scalpers/resellers. But when it comes to a trading card game, its based on collecting. If you dont like that, you should just buy games that are complete in the box board/card games. Trading cards games need the collecting part to get people to keep buying the products, its a balance of a good to play game, good to collect series. Also collectors are not the problem when it comes to prices. Most expensive cards are good playable cards that people want in their decks. Only the most rare cards like the enchanted once are priced high due to collecting. But they have cheaper non enchanted versions. So its a non issue.

Fake cards are proxies. You can play them casually but not in tournaments. There is a way to tell the difference.

You absolutely cannot print indistinguishable cards from your home printer right now; the issue right now is fake card printers in China. Although distinguishing between fake and real cards is slightly difficult right now for both enchanted and non-enchanted, it's definitely do-able and fakes can be identifed (especially with a loupe). I've done the analysis on a real and fake enchanted Maui.

You can tell the difference when you handle it but not online. Thats too late most of the time.

I watched a channel try to tell me how to tell if a card is fake. The signs they said to look for were exactly what the card I personally pulled from a pack looked like..... my wife pulled one as well and it had the same lack of foil coloration on the bottom black border. I do not personally think there are a lot of fakes out there right now.

Exactly my point in my comment. I need more evidence to be convinced. Lots of people haven’t collected a tcg before this so they don’t what to look for. Lack of ink or too much IS NOT an indicator of fakes, just shit engineering/management
