thanks for speaking up about this and the points u have raised, esp how such mockery and “playful roleplay humour” may in fact induce social stigma- i think this method of social moderation of comments like you and the tiktok gal speaking up is needed to articulate and educate such implications, esp when the impact of it can’t be seen through a single comment (to be reported). this might be a running joke to a bunch who, most often did not know better and had not considered this properly!

I endured something as shit when I was younger before During chinese tuition in P3-P4, some ppl in the class told me to go to IMH or something cuz i was a little weird, and it kept continuing It was really annoying and left the tuition center at P5. this is exactly what the IMH doctors are doing here

Yeah we can say "woke" culture and being too sensitive or what but it really isn't either. It's an issue that plagues not just Singapore but worldwide. Joking about Sengkang resort once in awhile in a convo can be lighthearted and "funny" sometimes but taking it too far as a running joke on social media about mental health is really cringy and childish. Mental health is a rising issue and the stigma of it isn't helping when too many people are too afraid to seek help from IMH due to the mentality that they might be mocked for having mental health issues.

if you think about it, June was the time where the PE2023 was just getting started. Parody accounts like these are quite common on other Social Media platforms, so nothing new. They do provide some humour to ease of the tensions on videos. As to are they getting overboard or ruining tiktok or creating stigma for people with real mental issues, maybe. Depends on your perspective. If the parody IMH account where they put up videos of Singaporeans doing weird stuffs is crazy, then there are more weird/parody accounts out there then you think.
