Anyone ever thought to do like a monster high doll style swap for example make a laguna doll look like draculara but keep the skin and any body features still the same. So it would be like a vampire themed sea creature. Does that make sense? Like this so she will see and maybe try this out.

Safire365 idk about this, but have you seen the Freaky Fusion line? They mixed a bunch of dolls, my favorites are Draculaura/Robecca Steam and Lagoona/Jinafire ^^

Do you possibly mean like re-create a Draculara doll/look, but use the base of a Lagoona doll’s head and body, while using the same color palette as Lagoona’s original colors for the hair, skin, clothes, etc.?

Nobody could really tell the difference from the fake, or real dolls once you repaint them. If you live in some countries I would imagine the Monster High dolls are expensive, and harder to find. I live in the US so I’ve been buying most of my Monster High dolls on Ebay in lots, or separately with free shipping. The total per doll usually comes out to $4.00-$7.00 per doll in the end. (That’s including the shipping.) The problem is that I choose really nice dolls, and then I can’t bring myself to cut off some of the doll’s hair. I think I will just embrace their hair, and just style it nicer. lol! I have bought some of my MH dolls in their original boxes for more money, from Walmart, or Ebay but only because I really loved them, and don’t plan on repainting, or remaking those.

+Lindy Diddle I also can buy dolls online here in Belgium, normally I pay 5-10 euro per doll in a very good state. But yeah, in certain countries it's more difficult to find and people earn less money, so it's almost impossible to find used MH and Barbie dolls online. So aliexpress is a good solution then. And it's also less painful to remove makeup of some fake doll than from an original one when you do it for the first time)))

In my country these dolls are from 40e up, basicly doubled in price and now the past year they have been disappearing from the shops and we only have the new versions of the MH main characters, with non bending arms and thick bodies, so i feel like its good theres knockoffs as its getting harder and harder to find them, even shipping from original toy sites is more expensive due to our taxing, best option has been secondhand stores to find these dolls.

Aurélie Lauzière Nefera has a taller body and a different face. I have one and she looks nothing like the face mold of the fake one. Just like she said the face is more like that of Draculaura but made in a different skin tone

most of the MH knock offs are just combinations of the different characters, since the knock off company could be sued if their product too closely resembles Mattels

+Aurélie Lauzière it's for sure not Nefera, I have repainted her before. She is bigger and more muscled and her face mold is completely different, she has a sharp face with high cheekbones and she has very deep and quite small eyes. And this one has sweet round cheeks and her eyes are round and not deep. I would say its Draculaura face

The big thing about boy eyes is that the eyebrow is much closer to the eye than a girl. Heavier lines, no eyelashes. But the big thing is that the eyebrow is so close!

Thank you very much for mentioning that dolls with rubber limbs can't be sanded or painted. I just took a break from creating my very 1st repaint with one of my daughter's old Barbies because I was frustrated with the results. I didn't realize her face and legs are rubber, so the pastels I applied were very uneven with the torso and absolutely terrible color. I wiped her down with acetone, washed her and hung to dry before watching this video. Now I have the confidence boost I need to try again tomorrow. Thank you again!

I like the fact that you used a cheaper brand! I haven't seen any video quite like this :) The first repaint I did was a second-hand Ghoulia, but she didn't work quite well. My second attempt, which was a second-hand Venus, ended up being the best one I've done! I'm pretty sure that could have been a Cleo DeNile knockoff...

I just received one of these fake dolls in the mail and they are made of a strange plastic rubber exactly as you described. The arms and legs are bendable but the torso can sanded since it’s a harder plastic I’ll definitely be buying some more of them since I always need replacement hands for my dolls

Because I work with vintage dolls, I go to thrift shops...charity shops for the British. People here donate the doll to sell for whatever the charity can get for them. I have MH dolls that I get for about one euro! Of course, the dolls are much cheaper in their home country, but still I do not pay new prices for dolls. By the way, a tip for painting male dolls...it's the eyebrows! Male eyebrows are MUCH closer to the eye than girl eyebrows. It is something that few people notice, but it is the key to the differences.

To make the eyelashes easy to work with, cut them and separate them. This will make it easier to glue them on and you can personalize the lashes to the dolls eye shape.

i decided to check out the website you got this doll from to see what i could find and found a black wydowna spider doll without a head and some doll heads both being very cheap and one of which having free shipping and decided to buy them to make a muffet, from undertale, doll. so you can kinda say that your video along with a really cool character design by monable inspired me to make a custom figure using a monster high doll. this is gonna be my hardest project ive ever done cuz im gonna try annd make the figure look as close to the picture as possible. wish me luck
