Swipe down to bring the notification panel. If you can swipe down twice to bring up the full panel, its real. If you cant swipe down twice but have to tap it to bring the full panel, its fake. In settings, you should have "connections" as the first option, not "connect" , the last option should be "about phone" not "routine management".. In the menu, you must have "calender" not "s planner". You should also have "samsung" as one of the menu icons. When you open the camera, the capture button must be a plain white circle..not a white circle with a black camera icon in the circle. Again in camera, you should see a pussy cat face in the upper right corner of the capture section, not a square galeery icon. When starting the phone the LED should be on, if it doesnt, its fake. In seetings, when you tap android 7.0 several times, it should bring up an N for nougat and not a marshmallow or an M just like in this video. Newer versions of the fake have been able to replicate some other features of the original, but the major give aways are the "s planner" on the fake instead of "calender", white capture button with a black camera icon in it with a gallery icon in the upper right corner instead of a plain white capture button with nothing in there, and finally the setting options beging with "connect" instead of "connections", ending with something else instead of "about phone"..hope this helps

The problem I have with many of these "How to spot a fake samsung...." is that they always use a comparison that doesn't help. If I have an original to begin with, why the hell will I buy a fake one? People who want to be able to tell if it's fake or not do not have the original and so you should be telling them how to know the fake keeping that in mind.

If I've never seen nor held the original, there's no way for me to know if the fake is heavier, if its thicker, if the screen is brighter or if the sound is different....these tips don't help unless i am holding an original and doing these comparison. A tip that helped me in buying my last phone was that the finger print scanner on a fake would open the phone with any finger. That's an helpful tip....not weight, thickness, sound or screen quality

There is no start up sound on the real s8 it vibrates and the blue light comes on top left. And the real s8 is fully glass back and front. The centre of the phone gives a hollow tap sound and on the back. A hollow glass sound.
