FAKE Toy Story Knock-offs Are Actually NOT BAD? | Signature Collection Bootleg Factory Rejects

EDIT: These are probably factory rejects. Meaning, they came from the original factory but have some defects/failed the quality check, and instead of being tossed away, some people took them to sell them.
If your Woody contains parts that are similar to the 'fake' Woody, that does not mean your Woody is fake. That just means that the 'fake' Woody has original parts too. So, don't panic!
Personally, I would say the deal breaker for me would be the shirt. If the line of your shirt is not in the center, it's obvious that it's NOT screen accurate so I wouldn't buy/keep that.
I found a BUNCH of cheap Toy Story toys in China being passed off as authentic "Signature Collection" toys, so I bought them to compare with the originals. There are a LOT of subtle differences!!

On my woody the hat and voice box are real and got the engraved part on the tag but apparently the stand vest and shirt are fake and i bought it boxed but 2nd hand brand new

Something interesting, I'm a sucker for accuracy, so just seeing the K/O Woody hat with no holes makes me want to buy XD, crazy huh. Great video, the comparisons were really good. Also interesting note, Thinkway has apparently canceled the collection line, so the Knockoffs may be the only way to get certain characters now, pretty sad imho. Subscribed.

Haha yeah I have seen people complaining about the holes so it did cross my mind that it's more accurate. Oh canceled? I was always under the impression that 2019 was the last time they produced any of these, together with the movie, so I wasn't expecting anymore in stores until a new movie comes out.

@@zedabyu Yeah unfortunately a rep of Thinkway said that, though not 100% sure. I think Thinkway works on a basis of retailers ordering stock from them so it could be if another store continues to stock them they'll return.

The knockoffs are probably the best way to go right now (except for Buzz). I sold my authentic Pricklepants, Dolly, and Buttercup for about $350-$550 each 3 years ago. Woody and Buzz are going up in price now too. When I bought these, I went to several stores to pick out the best ones. Even the authentic ones have imperfections. Some of the authentic Woody dolls had buttons that weren't centered on the shirt line either. The plush ones had differences in quality control too. Sometimes one eye would be higher than the other and the faces were a little bit crooked.

Yeah I totally don't mind my knockoffs since they look pretty much the same. Probably by the same factory since, like you said, the authentic ones do have the same issues sometimes. Those are some great prices you sold at!

Personally I don't care what so ever where toy story toys come from as long as thwyre thw way they should be and how I want them look at todayigrewup or nikolai todeshi they get customs all the time done by people who get the details right, ans accurate shaoe and sizw to match the movies I personally want them like in toy story and they for some reason never really did that for most part

Those Woody dolls are so intriguing! The bootleg is really impressive ngl. Too many subtle differences to simply be a different production lot imo (which happens - I've brought deadstock and such from there before). If you didn't know, you really wouldn't realise it was a fake.

For anybody wondering some knock off's use molds from the actual product, sometimes they'll use earlier test versions molds instead; hence the differences.

Great video! I look almost every day at Toy Story toys (Even in school) and i've never seen signature collection or collection bootlegs! Very interesting. Either lotso, woody, prickle pants, buttercup, or dolly are factory rejects, or the bootleggers bought the actual toy and replicated everything in near perfection and recasted the parts.

It seems like the hole placing for the pole is molded from the 2009 version, because looking at unboxings of the og woody it seems the hole is placed in the exact same spot which allows for the feet to rest on the surface rather than the star.

Have you taken a look at that one walmart woody that was released around the same time as signature? It is a close match to the white cloud bod signature woody, but it has a "regular" voicebox without any of the interactive features. I believe it was a standard woody doll, but the head sculpt and body seemed to match the signature collection figure. The hat was a solid mold though, and had no stitching. I'm curious as to why people don't use this as an alternative for the signature collection Woody?

I think I know which Woody you are referring to. I have only come across them when I was surfing eBay and found some very similar Woodies but with yellow buckles and spurs instead of gold, and like you mentioned, the hat without strings. I think it's just lesser known than the Signature Collections since Signature has always been advertised to be the most accurate. But yeah, it would probably be a good and cheaper alternative for a mod.

There are actually 3 vatiants of ko disney store buzz! 1st one is one is a disney store buzz in a blue buzz lightyear of star command box, has a weird looking head and has upside down space ranger emblem, 2nd one is the one in this video which can come in a buzz lightyear suit box, and the spaceship box and he has different shaped buttons (the red blue and green ones) and a thicker head, lighter green, and once again an upside down space ranger emblem, the 3rd one is basically disney store buzz with phrases that have minor tweaks, and a baby looking buzz head and once again, is in a blue buzz star command box

so explanation on why the real one has the two holes, if we remember the burger king pokemon ball recall thats the reason toys that can potentially cause a vacuum suction have to have those two holes to prevent suffocation, if an object can potentially cause a vacuum suction and can cover a childs mouth and nose its a hazard, the two holes prevent it from happening, thats why mr potato head hats, woody and jessie doll hats and many other toys (such as baby doll bottle covers, removable action figure helmets ect)

Haha don't worry about it. Like I've mentioned, this is probably a factory reject, so they were made with authentic parts but with some flaws. With so many batches of Woodies produced throughout the years, there are bound to be differences/similarities here and there. If you bought it from Toys R Us, you probably got the real deal. This is meant for people trying to get it online and they wanna know what to avoid.

Hello. Regarding Woody, I disagree with some of the things you've mention regarding the Knock off version of woody. I bought a woody sc in Toy's R Us in HK, specifically in Harbour Square back in Christmas of 2013, and the Star Stand actually is the same as the KO version you've mentioned. Though the voice box, is the same as what you said, yes they really begin with "boy i am glad to see you", and if try it again in a few mins woody will still begin with that same sentence. So I think the Woody here is not really a KO, but rather of different batch i suppose.

@@zedabyu there are 3 types off buzz disney store kos. The one you have has a thick head and old red green blue buttons and is in collection box. The one hes talking about is the one in a BLOSC Box, thinner head, normal paint but the head paint is awfull, and has modern disney store buttons. The third one is an obscure young looking disney store buzz with correct Space Ranger emblem.

I could be wrong but i think that there isn t an extra factory in China making copies from the original. I know that everything is possible ,,all the fabric materials can be done bij hand,,that isn t the case but its the plastic head,hands,boots,hats etc, There for you need some expensve machines to do this work. But again,,it can be done if some one has enough money to invest

I wouldn't say they are 'fake', but rather a defect or rejected. Parts on the cheaper Woody are not necessarily fake because they might have come from the original factory and being used on Woodies that passed the quality check. So if your parts matched the 'fake's', you don't have to panic.
