I think the best way to spot a fake one is by checking if the firmware is upto date. The fake one don’t change its firmware after apple releases new update

When you put them in the case they immediately go into a sleep mode. Plug them in and let them be outside the case and they will update. Don’t use the phone either for a bit

It’s easy to do a comparison when you have both the fake and real side by side. When you go to actually buy them from a private seller it’s hard to check all of these, especially that the fake ones gets better and better as time goes by. So, it must be some key tests you can do to check on the spot if they’re genuine. Can someone confirm this?

How about weight? Usually fake versions of just about everything tend to be lighter because of cheap materials. Could you weigh the real Airpods Max vs the fake ones and post the results? Would be very easy to bring a scale to a meetup and see if they come close to the weight of genuine Apple Airpods Max.

I just bought Airpods Max from a local online marketplace for such a good deal at only $340 (Singapore Dollars). Excellent condition. However, I still question its authenticity. It has all of the features that the real Airpods has from the build quality (aluminium, black charging port, same colour screws & insides as real), weight, colour, noise cancelling, great audio (similar to regular Airpods), silent & smooth extension except for the noise cancelling because I can enable it even when not on my head 😂 So I either got a really good deal or I got an insanely good counterfeit product.

Remember people: you can’t fool your self. Maybe some one walking by might think you’re wearing the real one, but you’ll know they’re fake. Which will also make you think “can they tell”.
