I worked at Walmart & the employees wear the blue vest that you had on. The CSM's (supervisors) wear the yellow vests. If you had just continued to straighten shelves & acted like you worked there, they wouldn't have paid attention to you. The security people were probably watching you on the overhead cams, acting weird & filming. They hate people filming in the stores & think everyone is a potential shoplifters lol. That's probably why they called a security sweep.

Usually the yellow vests are higher up than just a regular associate(who wear the dark blue) at least that was my experience when I worked there. That may be why you stood out.... also all the Walmart vests I have seen have the Walmart logo also on the back. So your vest didn't really look authentic tbh. They probably freaked out because there have been cases in the U.S. where people dressed as employees and stole from the Walmarts they were pretending to be employed at. So I'm surprised you didnt get in trouble!
