its literally "The Thing meets Sonic". "The Thing" meeting any character is always good. It's why the old venom comics where he's stuck in a dogs body in the arctic eating/hunting researchers is so good. if that sound familiar its because that comic also drew inspiration from "John Carpenter's THE THING" a lot of modern day "body horror" stuff does. which is funny because when the movie came out it was considered a massive failure.... but over time became a cult classic.

@The Player The way you said this makes me realize a lot of the mod's cast fits with horror characters. Lord X has that nasty, sadistic Freddy Krueger feel, always having the upper hand in his own world of nightmares. Tails Doll feels like a mix of Chucky from Child’s Play (obvious) and Sadako from the Ring (a ghostly entity tied to a curse that allegedly jumps out of the screen to kill you). Fleetway is a textbook example of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. I hopefully don’t have to mention how this works, because I don’t wanna feel old. Faker is, as you mentioned, the Thing. Starved, all about eating his victims, is Hannibal Lecter. Fatal Error is a corruptive egomaniac that feasts on the literal code of the game, breaking the fourth wall in a sense. Needlem0use is a mentally unstable puppet master that keeps tormenting her enemies in an endless hell. Both these characters fit the meta antagonists like Flowey from Undertale and Monika from DDLC. Yeah, Undertale’s not a horror game, but Flowey definitely has enough horror elements to him.

I’ve notice that Sayo’s recent lyrics for the various Sonic.EXE character all mention chess. Black Sun says “This game of chess, never-ending,” and Fatal Error say’s “So let this game of chess begin.” Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just something I’ve noticed. As for the lyrics and voices? Absolutely perfect! I was completely clueless on a potential personality and voice for the non-monster form but I think the whole concept of "this tour guide misleading you to somewhere dangerous" was a great direction to take things! And then Black Sun was absolutely perfect! Having this evil and sadistic monster is such a awesome contrast to Hog and Scorched being tormented and miserable souls trapped where they are. Faker meanwhile is just straight up a hungry and evil creature that seems primal and deadly in its appearance and mannerisms.

What I find especially unsettling about the first phase... EXE doesn't try to convince you that he's SONIC in particular. He just tries to convince you that he's your friend. Sonic's likeness is merely being used as a vessel. I've always loved his design before the final form, and how his singing feels forced. Almost as if he stops, his "mouth" will disappear, only leaving a blank slate. It's a perfect design. EXE SEEMS fine on the surface, but something about his appearance feels off upon further inspection. [In terms of the Revie situation, it seems she was proven (mostly) innocent. But despite that, the community still shunned her. Hope she's doing OK and getting/got the help she desperately needed.]

Honestly seeing Exe re-emerge and starting to get implemented back into the fnf community this could pave the road for fnf mods and people seem to not realize it. People always seem to bury every controversial mod/character and remove it everywhere. Look what happened to the Vs Sky mod. Every trace of the mod and every skin for it has just been removed from Gamebanana. Just because a character or mod is controversial doesn't mean we can't have fun playing it. There are a lot of mods where more than one person work on it, the person that had the idea gets into some hot water, just like that every trace of the mod is gone.
