i watch the streams of all T1 players, but faker, oner, and guma specifically for education. i don't even speak korean but with league, you'll come to realize that just by watching and replaying their vods, you can understand why they make the decisions they do, in game. i've learned a ton of jg macro from oner, specifically, and it's a plus since he plays a lot of the champions i main; meaning it's a champion guide on top of a jg guide.

The first one is why I don't get worked up when he dies in a game. For whatever reason any team that goes up against him is just itching to kill him constantly or try to do something to him. Sure they get the kill, But they sent three people to do it, lost a dragon and a tower. He doesn't need to be flashy or get a bunch of kills, him simply being there is enough to cause stress in the enemy team.

I watched a team hesitate for like 15 seconds on their next move and within that time, T1 got three turrets.

The simple fact is, Faker was WAY ahead of his time, that's why he was so dominant alongside his amazing mechanics. Over the past 3/4 years there have been midlaners that have got to his mechanical level and even exceeded it (knight, chovy etc). But Faker is T1, he is the face of LoL and now he is in his SIXTH worlds grand final. Everyone saw T1 fall off when Poby had to replace him due to injury (T1 went 1-7 in his absence I believe). I hope he wins that 4th worlds to solidify a decade of hard work and being the best.

Because of watching pro play for years, I could understand those concepts even if it was in a subconscious way, also, it tilts me when my team doesn't do what they should during obvious situations, particularly mid. This explains why T1 isn't good at all when Faker is not there. Never paid attention to what Faker does, but, this explanation made me recall what he did at MSI 2023, as said here, there's a moment where he rotates to top, when he tried that Vs BLG, Yagao was also there to counter him. 2017 Semifinals was a good example of Faker rotating and leading everywhere to help his team Vs RNG. Now, I'd like to rewatch their matches at MSI taking in consideration this, he sometimes had success rotating bot, other times he didn't, at times, because the Elk and On were better than T1 bot duo and also Xun was there to counter plays at botlane.

Throughout this tournament (which GenG ultimately won from a crazy back foot victory, through their midlaner Chovy) Leaning the EXACT skill your outlining in this video. Chovy started playing more mobile champs and giving up perfect farm to have more impactful roams. his Ahri and Tristana end all over the map causing havoc for KT then T1 in the finals. The most common misconception that people have about LoL is believing that micro is more important than macro. At the end of the day, it’s a strategy game. It doesn’t matter how you can make flashy mechanical outplays, if you don’t know how to translate that into a win condition, map pressure and such. Sure, Fakers reactions and outplays looks really cool to edit into a highlight video and upload on KZbin, but what makes him the GOAT is his INSANE game awareness. How this dude always lane to think 5 steps ahead, it never ceases to amaze me.

In solo queue, there's not much you can do besides what you already did: push the wave. Your team just has to not die to their "bad" (no timer/turn to make the play) play. The first time that I watched faker play it made me realize that Even though I could never be as good as him mechanically with moves I could attempt to be as efficient with my gold farming and management. I was able to crack platinum 2 as a Susan main. I haven't played in almost 8 years now, But I will always watch the unkillable demon king on his way to worlds.
