Thanks. I’m using Roman 555 which is a not made for taxidermy but works great. You can also find Dextrine powder which is one of the oldest types of glue.

Wait a minute there, Ben .. 40 - 50 years ago, and way before that, Taxidermists DID use hide paste .. in fact WAAAY back when the mounts for the large museums were mounted, Dextrine based hide paste was the norm. Unfortunately, too many cheapskate Taxidermists would skip it because they were lazy and cheap to use it. But, the use of hide paste goes way back. I mean, when I mounted my first Deer head in 1973, I used hide paste on him, and that was 47 years ago. ;)

😉😁😁😁 John obviously I haven’t been around that far back, I was just referring to what I was told by some of the old taxidermists ( passed away now)... I guess what matters most is that we use them now. Cheers

On a big hairy animal like this I use baseball stitch.

Thanks Richard. Three things in Taxidermy is important that you need to do all over and then over and over. 1- practice 2- study 3- adjust
