From what is established, Walker is being set up to be US Agent with a dash of Nuke (psychotic tendencies from the serum). In other words, he can throw that shield hard enough to literally wound/kill. I feel to establish how threatening he is and complete his villain arc, he will literally kill Karli after Falcon and Bucky take her down as well completely defeat the Flag Smashers, forcing a showdown with Sam and Walker for the world to see.

I love that Bucky was still acting all mad at Sam, but then he still thinks of him and asks the Wakandan's to make him new wings/suit. Once he had some time alone to think about it, I think he came to realize that he was wrong, and while he can't possibly understand how Sam feels because he's not black, he can at least acknowledge that there is a reason he would feel the way he did, and its legitimate and valid and he sees that now. And then Sam laying down the 'tough love' being exactly what Bucky needed to hear. And Bucky just talks so easily to him. There's a reason Sam was a councilor at the VA, he's amazing at it. He shows it more and more every episode. Sure it maybe easier because he and Bucky have a history, as tense as it is, but Bucky just tells him the honest truth, open and unguarded so easily because Sam has created that comfortable and safe space for him to do so. I feel like they both let go of a lot of baggage in this episode, and it allowed them to connect in a way they hadn't been able to with the weight and tension before. Now I hope in the final battle, and into the future, they can carry that connection and it will help them.
@sersastark3 жыл бұрын
Bucky was never angry at Sam he was guarded because he was only recently freed from his mental hell and still didn't quite trust his memories and habits. Sam never harbored any ill-will towards Bucky, even when Bucky was grumpy and grouchy Sam was always there to disarm him, make him laugh/get a bit annoyed, to relax him and sort of let him know Sam isn't there to judge him, he doesn't see Bucky as an asset or a deranged killer. He just sees a war veteran with an insane amount of PTS from his crimes as a brainwashed soldier assassin. He sees JAMES. He gave James a safe and welcoming space, a peace he hadn't felt since his time in Wakanda. They never disliked each other, they just never had the time or circumstances to really talk things out until now.

As a long-time fan, of course I want Sam to get the shield. But because of the implicit bias of all involved, things turned out as they did. If they just gave the shield to Lamar instead of John in the first place, both Lamar and John would be alive, and Sam would not have felt justified in taking the shield. Lamar had better morals and should have been the more logical choice between the two. The generals picked the white guy because of their own prejudice. I bet John never even considered that Lamar should have been the one with the shield. That's why the writing on this show is so good. As a long-time comic book fan, I'm so glad they are confronting the racism issue like this. This is how you honor the source material, and America really needs this conversation right now!
