Falcon BMS: Operation Desert Storm STRIKE/DEAD

Today's mission is two 2-ship F16's with Sharko, Dutt, Moose, & Myself as we take down enemy air defenses and strike an enemy factory or base.
Sharko and Dutt work on the enemy air defenses that are surrounding our main target, and then Moose & Myself role in with some freedom to deliver. We end the mission by having a surprise MiG-29 merge at the end. Enjoy!

Pretty incredible to think a passion project mod based on a game decades old is able to offer this much more than DCS. Would love to see more BMS content if possible man - would be great to see more DCS players giving it a go as I feel like lots of people are getting a little burnt out with the missions in DCS.

@Hi There I'd have to disagree on the detail from having played both - there are a few DCS aircraft that are feature complete but many more are broken on incomplete - like the f-18 and f-16. As for the physics I'd say DCS is lacking too - the performance of many missiles are handicapped to encourage people to merge into dogfights and weapon splash damage is basically non-existent (ie good luck killing a tank with a gravity bomb unless you get close to a direct hit on it). Honestly the only things I'd say DCS has on BMS is graphics (it's a stunningly beautiful game) and the wide variety of different aircraft and airframes - especially the oddballs like the Viggen.

Yeah that's true, I am about to change from dcs to falcon! I feel like if the Falcon bms had a little better graphics it would blow dcs out of the sky...

Awesome mission. Cannot describe the emersion when going through an entire campaign solo let alone with a squadron of friends. For example, during the ingress seeing other packages on their ingress as well as other flights on their egress. After dawn, seeing ground firefights knowing you're really crossing into enemy territory. Long live falcon BMS. Thanks for sharing Tricker!

Definitely a successful mission, I didn't hear any RWR warnings? It appeared that the MIG 21 took you out? Besides that a SA 9 site only 3 miles from the objective is serious. Looking forward to a campaign in the future. Good Communication

That's a simple question to answer, DCS spends too much time on creating new modules rather than completing existing ones. They do this for financial reasons, new modules create more income than completing existing ones. It's understandable, especially if it's the difference between DCS surviving or not but terribly frustrating for us Viper drivers waiting for the completed module.

It can be if you fly with people who want to do it and have the same mindset. F16 in DCS is very limited, but you have F18 which is capable of doing everything in this video and more, Harriers for strike, A10C for CAS plus "exotic" aircraft like Jeff. Major difference is that DCS will not auto-generate a mission like this one for you, you will need to create it yourself - it can be done to the same, or even higher level of detail (you can have real people doing CGI and on-the ground support/JTAC which BMS doesn't support afaik) and with tools like CombatFlite you can do very detailed mission planning/briefing. There is a couple of dynamic mission generators out there if you want to try which can be a good start to custom mission. Other that that, don't expect to jump on random server and have full on briefing and team work in DCS. It doesn't work for any game. I like to fly both.

I think ED have come to realize that they need to step up their game. I believe they have completely reorganized their priorities now after the ridiculous F-16 roll out. The concept of quantity over quality has reared its ugly head and it's come to bite them in the ass. Let's hope they can fix it. Their potential is good, especially after the SC roll out. Nice work on that front. Anyway, I would love to have two quality sims to play with instead of one. Let's hope both are shown much love for some time to come. Just my 2 bucks...
