They are not friends at all. More precisely, Richie was indeed a friend, but AJ was a scoundrel, not a friend. AJ abandoned him, and did not even try to save him, not to mention the fact that he slept with his "wife". Honestly, I do not feel sorry for AJ at all. Of the main characters, there were only two positive ones: Richie and Maya. The conductor, by the way, was also a decent guy - it’s a pity that they didn’t listen to him, but then there wouldn’t have been a film 😊

The movie is great, but there are jambs. At first, it looks unrealistic when savages are under water for a long time, and then they jump out of there and easily attack. Secondly, the human relations of the main characters are shown as illogical. Two, on the one hand, positive, smart and successful characters in life, are well aware of their spouses' infidelity, but at the same time react calmly to it. Maya and Richie behave as if nothing had happened, and after that they continue to love their unfaithful spouses. Especially pissed me off was AJ, a selfish paranoid, whom for some reason everyone loved (except the guide), despite the fact that he betrayed all the main characters of the film.

This trailer hyped me up, but for the love of god, don't watch this movie!! If you watched the entire video, its completely pointless. I just walked out from the theaters and already feel nauseous, and it is NOT because its scary, disgusting or gory. The acting is terrible. It feels way too scripted and unnatural. The "tribe" characters come down to only 2 (that's right, they barely show the whole tribe, how they internally work, how they talk, who's the leader, where do they live...), the character dynamics is cringe, and the ending is dogshit. This did not feel like a horror movie at all, unless you count 2 or 3 jump scares as horror. The gore is absent, the atmosphere and acting is awkward, and they don't even show the tribes eating/cooking any human remains. They just threw "cannibals" into the movie description so it sells better and called it a day. TL;DR: Go watch The Green Inferno (2013) and thank me later.

I can't believe this movie was even made nowadays. Portraying indiginous people as murderous cannibals is a little out of fashion. Now not to say that there aren't a few hostile tribes of people left in the world, because there are, but this is still a cringy idea for a movie.
