U2 is an extremely talented band. This was my high school and young adult band. At 53 yrs old now, I don't really listen to music anymore but every blue moon. U2 songs have a way of making me enter a surreal world where i can just drift away with their music and enter another world for a moment in time. From instrumentals to the meaningful lyrics to the voice of the lead singer, these guys are all very talented. I love this band!

Oh man, do I ever relate to this song. After 27 years of a very tragic divorce, still live with the pain at a subdued level. I am part Irish and nearly the age of the U2 boys and only a song and lyrics like this could come from a source of pain. Celtic people feel deeply, either positive or negative.

Last week I was at the cemetery visiting my grandma and a couple of feets away there was a memorial service being held, I'd say there were 15 to 20 people hearing the priest reciting some Bible quotes and later the band started playing this song while everybody threw roses until the coffin was fully covered by them. 25 to 30 minutes later, everyone left and I respectfully approached to the grave and in the epitaph the verse "One life but we're not the same, We get to carry each other, carry each other" was placed instead the date of birth//date of death you normally see. It really got to me and made me listen this song from a different perspective, we may be strangers but we can feel a primal connection close to our hearts
