Remember Falcon that that one mineral also blocks CCs within a range, like any other minerals would. You couldn't land a CC.

the mineral patch blocks the building of a command center by proximity; you can't build them within a certain range of minerals.

As a terran player, this match will probably give me nightmares. Cloud's spellcasting with storms and stasis was scary, and that recall into the main base was horrifying.

Especially if Terran player didnt even trying to defend his main base factories, so he knew from start that they would be destroyed by first time recall, why he didnt do a thing he started to do ANY WAY after completly lostin all temp and economical/map control advantage (build back-up production), very strange and questinable And this is a thing for like 99-100% games with Terrans, why they never do that, even when they know, that they 95% will lose their main bcs they not even trying to defend it on middle-late stages of the game, Also they 99% of times not even LIFTING OF factories (for no reasons too)

There is a very small chance for a shot to miss even if it is on the same ground. I remember seeing that with a dragoon and it was also a game with Arty. Funny thing, though, Arty never mentioned that he was lucky, but he was non stop whining about high ground misses of his vultures :)

That happens when something is in the shadow of something else - could be a building, or even some map object, like a tree. That tank was in the shadow of the nexus. Miss chance is the same as low ground to high ground miss chance - 53.125% (and I have no idea where the often quoted 30% comes from, but that's incorrect).

P luck in this game in what? That Terran dont care at all about defending main with all production/building back-up production bcs he knew he would not defend main at all/at least LIFT OF factories? 99% of Terran players do the same things in same situatins, even best pro of them, for no reasons at all

@@ИванПетров-ж7э Cloud was weaker here. He only won via sheer power of Recall tactic. Protoss are not agile as in their units cost so much, build slowly, move slowly, it takes longer to transition. Terran's weakness however is Siege Tanks are not so mobile - they are supposed to deploy in the center of the map or assault expansions - so when bases get Recall'd against they cannot make it back home in time. The trick to kill Terran is to play around this - force them to invest a lot in Siege Tanks then attack them in all sorts of different locations on the map where the Siege Tanks are slow to react.

Artosis is an outstanding player, don't get me wrong. But here is another example of what I have noticed. He is very, very good, very organized. Perhaps TOO meticulous and organized. EASY to poke holes all over the empires he builds because he is so often focused on something else. Sometimes he is totally out of position to even react quickly at all! And yeah, the recall work. This game is an example of how better players sometimes can be surprised. Yeah, the elites probably would have anticipated the possibility of this and dealt according, and as you said, Artosis hates drops. But he does little to stop them. Or so it would appear in this match. He is a great player, but there is a difference between GREAT and ELITE. Actually not certain which Artosis is, but would be AWESOME to see him take on the likes of Bisu, Jaedong, the others.

The minerals even with 1 have a radius at which you cant build a cc by :P So yea it does block the base. Its really hard to tell though honestly XD I rewatched a few times but I think it blocks at least 1 square so it can't be placed.

Hmm good question. I've been casting Brood War almost daily since 2016, so there are something like 3,000 games here. There was a time in like 2018 where it was nothing but Terran wins for a while, and people were mad. I think it all goes in waves.

It seems like Cloud was on his back leg most of the game, then rapidly turned the tables at the end. Can anyone comment as to what Artosis could have done better here? Would like to hear how you would defend the main in this case (or as others have said, preemptively building factories in an expansion).

Because Artosis is a big name for the casual observer, and gives an easy "root for/against" person. And tbh I click on more Artosis game casts than I do other casts (further reinforcing my first point)

The protoss was messing up for most of the game, getting HTs slaughtered by vultures non stop. Was passive for most of the first 15 minutes too. This was an opponent Artosis should have been able to defeat easily so I'm not surprised he left without saying GG. Zero base defense wasn't even the issue here, it was Artosis not being aggressive enough after crushing the Cloud's army halfway thru the game. When Artosis got hit back he pulls ALL of his forces to the bottom right like a panicked noob instead of just slamming Clouds main base and ending the match.
