Love that bit about learning about Prussia. They had a reputation for being extremely martial (a leftover from being founded by ex crusaders) and the Kingdom of Prussia would be the one to unite and create The German Empire, only to be toppled a couple decades laters during WW1 One of the big what ifs of history will always be if Prussia survived

Today's Broodwar Fact. Dropships say "in the pipe 5x5" This refers to old radio calls from world war II era and are still used today in certain situations. When you're receiving a radio signal you give a quality rating and a power of the signal rating after you receive the first message. These are on a scale of 1 to 5. So 5x5 is equal to loud and clear whereas 1x2 would be barely readable. I'm a captain on a ship and we still use these today. It's specifically for long-range radios. So when the dropship says in the pipe 5x5 she's basically saying that she has received your message loud and clear.

What does "in the pipe" mean, then? I read that "the pipe" refers to a visual representation of a vessel's route on a screen, so the message is "I am well on supposed route" or something like that

@@klas666 Interesting. So the whole line means "I'm on route and I read you loud and clear"? You don't get this kind of voice line anymore. Before this explanation I thought the dropship pilot was telling the troops to be loaded into "the pipe" in a 5x5 formation or something.

@@klas666 so the "in the pipe" reference is to let the person know that you have some sort of signal being received. And that part isn't official that's just kind of some slang that was come up with between the radio jockeys at the time. Because there are other sayings like "I got you on the wire 5x5" that were also used and are still sometimes used.

Think 3rd base at natural, not low ground. Then the entrance to the main (4th) is already covered.

6:20 where you asked why zergs started taking the lowground base on 4P Maps - according to Arty, it's to have an easier time taking the fourth base. If you'd take the highground base first, you might not be able to set up the natural as your 4th that easily with tanks and what not besieging.

HA! I KNEW IT! I've been saying for SO LONG that BC's belong in TvZ. I got a couple questions about my choice to go BC's in my game against GoneRogue that i casted on my channel, but no one wanted to listen to my reasoning.

At least on my channel, the winrate for BCs vs Zerg is like 5%. It's rough out there.

@@FalconPaladin I think it's a waste to just make 2 BCs most of the time. At least Flash used D matrix on them and did a big drop while they were distracting. The BCs seem to do a lot better when more than 2 are made.

Make 4 or more of them. Give them Yamato-cannon. Have them come over and supporting the infantry push when YC is done and energy exists for at least one shot. Eliminate the sunken colonies with the BC's, use D-matrix to shield them form scourge and spore colonies if needs be, then push in. The BC's target-fire priority targets infantry attack-moves so they swap to attacking ground Zerg or scourge etc. and like this the line "WHERE IS THE AIR SUPPORT!?" in a specific cinematic is properly answered: Above you, doing their job, instead of messing around elsewhere to die alone because lone BC's are easily countered. Oh, and you want to be REALLY funny? Have medics with restoration, so when the plague hits the BC's, remove it. This keeps them healthy, this keeps them able to punish mutas, to eliminate lurkers with scanner/Vessel support, this keeps them able to nuke ultras faster when they come in, this helps on everything, you can even yamato the ultras, it's well worth the energy spent. I really, really don't get why pro's never do this. I've not seen ONE game Falcon has cast where this was done effectively, but I recall one where the Terran player had wraiths overhead along with the infantry to do all this just with bigger numbers of invisible units.

@@sanaebeast4485 maybe at the pro level. But if youre making decisions in platinum based on what works at a high level, you might end up hurting yourself. Pro's depend heavily on skills lower level players dont have, so saying what doesnt work for them wont work for us is a little backwards.
