Super effective especially when you choose to spawn broodlings on a tank that's real close to other tanks. Friendly splash damage will surely take out or at least severely damage other tanks that are close. Queens are always a good idea against mech.

I think Hero saw the Wraiths and realised that Last at max with 5-6 Wraiths meant that he couldn't possibly have enough ground army to survive Hero making a sudden push, since Zerg can macro a ton of units out at once Hero was able to take advantage, Terran units had to rally down and Hero knew to take advantage and killed the reinforcement c:

22:31 Last invested a lot into those cloaked wraiths, which meant that there was no new supply of mech units to reinforce the contain. That section where there was a lull in units led to Zero being able to recover and break out. The wraiths were kind of worthless after killing the queens too.

Hahah just pure badassery. I saw those units being built up and then he just used the nydus and swarmed over the tank blockade in classic zerg fashion. The units hero used to beat those tanks are cheaper and more importantly quicker to train in large numbers. Once they broke the blockade those undefended expansions had no time to build any defense against the high speed zerg swarm. Truely an epic game. Heros unit choice and the timing of the unit creation was flawless. Awesome game and awesome cast. Thanks for putting it out there falcon!

If the rectangles come up, it's probably because the game was recorded before StarCraft Remastered came out. StarCraft remastered uses UTF-8 whereas the old client uses ASCII.

They don't, that was patched, but the name stuck. Don't die trying it. :) The trick now is to force-attack a building that is in the fog of war, and the command won't clear until the building is revealed again (or a new order is given). Or you can use the alliance options, but that is banned in every form of competitive SCBW.

15:21 at this point I'm thinking the way Zerg has overlords spread out over the map Terran would be wise to make 3 or 4 wraiths and go overlord hunting. Then I would transition to battle cruisers behind the wraith play because zerg will be spending gas on scourge instead of defilers. Attack Zerg with Marine/medics with BC support. Am I nuts? 16:00 nm. I now know Zerg will lose because he's making 10 queens. 26:25 I withdraw my comment

I think you undervalue Queens Falcon. It cost 150 Energy to cast spawn Broodling. It cost 150 Minerals and 100 gas to replace a tank. If the same queens can kill more than one tank before they die or even if they die, they already pay for themselves. Energy replenishes indefinitely, Minerals and Gas are finite.

Last chose to greedly take more expansions instead of building factories at 7 oclock base. Had he been building reinforcements from there the entire time he would not have lost it to just hydras. Even 6 tanks on high ground with some scvs blocking would have prevented that 7oclock base from going down. Also, trading with mech -while inefficient-, if able to be done is huge. When terran loses a position it's essentially starting over from square one. Last trying to go back to Hero's main immediately was unwise, but given he had just lost 3 bases simultaneously I can see why he did it. Once the queen upgrades were researched Last was on a clock to get something done. Terran mech with less than 8-10 tanks is suddenly approachable by hydra/ling, not to mention ultra, throw in dark swarm and we get the result we did here.

The micro tecnique in Broodwar is actually called 'Hold Lurkers'. It can be done by selecting the Lurkers together with another unit (like an overlord) and then issuing the hold position command
