Awesome Beaver tips and you know me. I soak up anything i can on Beaver, cause you can never have to much knowledge on Beaver or any other critters your harvesting. I've had Beavers hold up for a 9 days before so I'm guessing this and is my opinion. But from what i have seen/learned is that close to 100% of the time a beaver lodge or bank dens. Always are close to a tree or trees very close to their vicinity. So they can eat the trees roots from inside the den/lodge in times of dispare. I have seen bank dens go back 35yds and more. Only way i know this is the ground collapsed under me into a tunnel while scouting. They burled a tunnel all the way to a big soft maple tree. I could be wrong but thats what my experiences has led me to believe. THANKS AGAIN Dale!!! Also Dale do you hold off on Beaver for a couple weeks after season starts to let get more prime? Last year I waited 3wks cause were still pretty blue under hide
@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 Жыл бұрын
No you're right Hoyt most times they den close to trees. I'm not waiting for them to prime. They're all hatters anyway so it really makes no difference if they're blue or prime in this market. Thank you for watching hoyt

Thanks for sharing Dale! I can definitely notice when the two year olds start traveling on my southern line. The catch goes up to 50-80 percent two year olds every day. They aren’t as big but seem to have the nicest hides for southern beaver.
@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 Жыл бұрын
Yes they've not been chewed up too much yet like older beaver in the south tend to be. Thank you for watching.

That's a sharp looking hoodie Dale. As far as the video goes...spot on. All I use is castor. Year round, season, ADC, doesn't matter. If you want to catch Beaver...use castor.

Imagine your girl smells a different perfume on you, spring, summer, fall or winter. She gets curious, suspicious, and mad. Castor has that affect on beaver. My feeling is that castor lures can be abused, so have a good food lure in your pocket to. You never know what they’ve smelled before. Just my thought. Good subject Dale. And don’t overlook the dams
@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 Жыл бұрын
That's why I make and sell 4 different castor based lures for beaver Curt. I also make 1 limited quantities beaver with no castor in it at all for the waspy ones. Thank you for watching
@hoyt15flhtk82 Жыл бұрын
Eliminator is the cats meow for waspy Beavers Curt. I used Dale's lure for a colony that 4 other trappers made so smart they would blow your mind. I've got them widdles down to the last big female using Dales Eliminator Lure and she'll die of old age. I seen her once last year and she's around 90lbs I figure. Her mate was 75.4lbs and she is easily recognizably bigger than he was.

You nailed it. I trap them in fall and use to trap them in spring. Castor is the #1 thing that to use . Besides it works on other type of animals.
