Love your take on the capsule wardrobe. There are so many cookie-cutter capsule wardrobe videos out there that all have the same black/white/beige color palette and include mostly business casual pieces with tons of blazers and I can't relate to that at all. So fun to see a capsule with real clothes that isn't trying to copy the exact same thing everyone else is doing!

Hi girl, so sorry to hear about your friend's husband. It's lovely that she has a fundraiser in his honour. As a cancer researcher, I want to point out that eating extremely spicy food can damage the gut lining and is a cancer risk itself, so perhaps you could think of another safer activity to raise the money 😢❤️ On a side note, LOVE the capsule wardrobe!

It's been fun following along as your wardrobe evolves year to year. :) And I agree about the Anne Mulaire winter leggings! I ordered a second pair for fall/winter. They are a great layering piece with dresses once it gets too chilly out for tights.

I was glad to see you adding more colors to your Fall wardrobe and rhey mix together so well. I'd like to gradually sew myself a capsule wardrobe using my own fave colors. I nearly banished black and grey from my wardrobe because they didn't make me feel good wearing them. I also don't need to dress formally for work but it's tricky to still feel put together but not too dressy. Have you sewn anything lately? I'm loving some of the more sustainable fabrics from Core Fabrics (online but based in Montreal). The pieces I've ordered are great quality! Thank you for sharing.

Maybe a strange question but where do you store your clothes when you aren't actively using your capsule? I'm so interested in this way of dressing as it's more limited yet comfy etc but struggle with where to put things as we don't have a ton of storage.

Not strange at all! There various things people do - you can use bins at the top of the closet or in a storage area, a suitcase, a spare closet, under-the-bed boxes, or if you're very tight on space could even split your closet into capsule and out-of-season sections (although it makes it easier to utilize the capsule wardrobe concept if the other clothes are out of sight). I've done most of these over the years depending where we were living.

What about under your bed? You can get special lidded containers. Some even roll. You can also buy freestanding closets. Or just put them into big bins.

I struggle with having a casual/smart wardrobe and lounge wear. Do you have a separate lounge wear wardrobe or do you tend to wear you capsule at home too? Thanks

Lounge wear, activewear, pajamas, etc. are typically separate from the capsule wardrobe. Because I work from home though I try to have enough comfy items in my capsule - in particular things like the dressy sweats, ribbed pants, etc. that feel like comfy lounge clothes but still look put together. But I still have a few strictly home/lounge pieces in addition to the capsule.

Do you wear slips under your linen dresses? Asking because I find linen to be way too sheer in the light to be worn without a slip but the thing is, nowadays it's extremely hard to find good slips that are not nylon or polyester or some other bs and that are also long enough for tall-ish people! So I was wondering if you had any slip recommendations. I have so many linen dresses but I feel like giving up on them all because of this because I am just sick of this slip issue :(

I don't, sorry. Sometimes I wear shorts under, but almost all my linen pieces are medium-heavy weight so sheerness isn't really an issue

@@MyGreenCloset Hmmm I guess different people have different definitions of sheer :( All linen is see-through against the light, so when you walk everyone can see everything.

​@@mara3842I get what you're saying. I have a dark blue linen skirt that you can see legs through if the light is shining through it, but I don't think I'd be able to see underwear through it. Likewise, I have a brightly dyed orange linen dress, you can see the gap in my legs in the right light, but nothing on the top half shows through as long as I don't get a chill, but there are silicone stickies for that (which the outlines will show through without a slip.) I know slips can be difficult to pair with linens, but it's worth it to keep your body oils away from delicate linens to extend time between washes. Maybe a cotton shift will be preferred so you don't lose out on that air flow :)

@@NoDecaf7 Yep it's the showing legs that I am concerned about. I guess in this day and age a lot of women go for this look on purpose. We just don't live in the time when slips were staples in your underwear drawer anymore, so that makes it even harder to find them. I live in a big city and have seen young women wearing vintage nylon lingerie slips as dresses...oh my... Cotton and bamboo is what I've been wearing under mine, the thing is that I am 5'7" (which isn't even that tall) so most slips sold out there are way too short on me, it's been impossible to find something that is knee length or a little bit above the knee. I got a few custom ones on Etsy a few years ago but it can get so damn expensive, pretty much like buying a new dress ugh, and the shop I got them from is no longer in business. So I've been buying cheap bamboo slips off of Amazon since I found no other options, but of course the quality is so bad they stretch out and lose shape after a few washes. Well, I don't need to tell you all the other reasons why fast fashion is bad...In the future I would like to learn how to sew my own, but that won't happen for a while so the search for a decent alternative continues.

I'm almost 5'4" and they just touch the floor if I'm not wearing any shoes - *slightly* too long for me and I'll likely take them up .5-1 in. They say the inseam is 31" but I just measured mine and it looks closer to 30"

Does linen keep you warm enough in fall/winter?

It really depends. There are different weights of linen - light (great for summer) and also medium and heavy. Most of my linen is medium-heavy which is better for fall although I'll still layer tights, leggings, tops, etc. on chilly days or for winter.
