For real, candles all lit for the ambiance 🤣🤣 I had to calm down with this so I don’t burn our house down lol. So only 1 candle on the kitchen table and the rest are battery operated.

I think that you should give your grandma’s sideboard a try in the dining space. You never know, it might surprise you how much you end liking it. Just like the mirror.

If it wasn’t so heavy and full of all of my clothes, I would have given the swap a shot to see what I thought. But my brain and body doesn’t have the energy for that kind of experiment at this point. 😅 It would be a REALLY big job, so it’s on my good intention to-do list for the future. 😆 Thanks for watching! 💕

@@SimplifyingTheSatherns it’s defo a “no kids in the house” job! I get such a kick out of rearranging furniture. My husband comes home from a business trip to a whole new house. He can’t believe I’ve moved a piece of furniture from one level of the house to another. 😂 Love your channel. You are so down to earth. Thanks.

I was so pumped for fall and then the weather just wasn’t cooling down and I also lost so much motivation. So there are just pumpkins strewn about the house my toddler has used as teethers and my dog has been batting around (pretty sure she’s part cat). 😂 Thank you for the cozy vibes! This might motivate me…or the house may stay in its tiny disaster state. We shall see.

That’s pretty relatable. Normally September 1st hits and it’s fall in my mind, but I feel like we had more summer in September than we did in August. Just the season whiplash that we get. 😭 Our pumpkins are getting chewed on slightly less this year, but the one I put on the entry way table is rarely there. 😅 I think it’s ok to take years off from decorating, (I don’t really believe in decorating for spring and summer anymore lol) and depending on when you decorate for winter it may be worth just holding out a little longer. 🤷🏻♀️🤣

I’m the same way. Back to school has always felt like the start of fall in my head so I’m feeling very discombobulated. Maybe I can finally take shorts out of our drawers… We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and I tried to dress everyone for some fall photos and ended up changing myself and my son into t shirts in the mom and baby tent five minutes after we got there. 😂 LOL so it’s not just my toddler who’s obsessed with pumpkins? I’m not sure what it is…maybe the similar shape to a ball. 🤷🏻♀️ At this point I think the house isn’t seeing decorations until Black Friday (aka Christmas decor time in my book).
@SimplifyingTheSatherns14 күн бұрын
@@Proseccoandpacifiers I kind of can't wait until it's cold all day so I can just dress everyone in one outfit each day lol. Everything is edible at that age haha. I mean technically it is food. 🤣 YES! After Thanksgiving is when the Christmas decor comes out. I feel unnecessarily stressed when I walk into someone's house mid november and a tree is up lol. Santa and turkeys don't go together! 🤷♀😂

@@SimplifyingTheSatherns awe that is so precious he is just too sweet and I love his hair. But I see his and my daughters little faces he was sweet she was so gifted and very smart. I thought she was going to be the death of me lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 still very bright now she is a 911 operator in Phoenix AZ, AND STILL DOING COLLEGE on line. She was basically screwed by Covid. Love the gold mirror for fall/winter! Did you ever have a gate around your woodstove? We have a little one still and a similar stove set up.... it has been a struggle to find something that goes all the way around, is tall enough and he can't put his hands clear through the bars. Didn't know if you have a recommendation?
@SimplifyingTheSatherns21 күн бұрын
Thank you! We’ve actually never had a gate up. 😬 My parents did have a tri- folding gate in front of their fireplace at their house. But I have see some at home goods before, and I know Amazon has some larger gates, that you can adjust the layout of. We just talked a lot about “hot” and tried to find any opportunity to show examples of what fire can do. My oldest was happy to listen and trust us, but my second (second children are a different breed), any time he came near a candle, he’d try to reach into the flame. He was very curious about the fire. One time after saying “hands off, that’s hot” 50x about a candle we just let him stick his finger near the flame. He didn’t hurt himself at all or even cry, but it was enough of a shock to realize that we weren’t making it all up. We haven’t had any burn incidents and the boys help us build fires now. I think that by making them a part of it instead of keeping them away has taken some of the mystery out of it, and created a sense of respect, I guess. Not at all what you asked for, but that’s my experience with kids and fire. 😅
