For a coat for NY I would def check out north face I live in Jersey and I love my north face jacket :) they have cute ones that are long with a fur trim on the hood too! They are pricey but if you're looking for a good jacket especially for around that time I think they are worth it :)
@funsizebeauty88589 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. North face is the way to go if you're willing to shell out the $$ but they're totally worth it. And the furry trim on the hood is the best for keeping rain out of your face!

100% agree. I live in England and it's a lifesaver. It's still thin so it's not incredibly bulky like most jackets but is actually warmer and better and even though they're expensive they last. It's not something you replace every year

So turtlenecks are in this fall? ;) Girl, you're going to need a down coat -- especially if it is a night game. Lands End has some pretty girly shaped down coats this year. Also, get hand warmers and keep those in your shoes and in your gloves. That will definitely help with staying warm (I'm a Southern girl living in Maryland).

In new York you gotta throw out "being cute" if u wanna be warm. You needa put on a long sleeve shirt, a sweater or two, a coat, scarf, gloves, hat, then put leggings under your pants, and wear fuzzy socks.

I am from Alaska where it gets crazy cold for about nine months out of the year, and northface and colombia make some nice jackets that are flattering and will still keep u warm.
@Oliviax0x089 жыл бұрын
You need a down coat, girl! I know they're not the cutest or most flattering but trust me, all new yorkers wear them and nobody will care. All anybody cares about is staying warm. Layer with turtle necks and a chunky sweater. Layer tights under leggings or pants. And get hand warmers!

If you're going up north and there's a lot of snow and/or slush, I would highly recommend spraying your shoes with a protectant to keep them from getting stained. Okay girl, staying warm in cold climates is all about keeping your core warm! I've found that if I layer a down vest under my coat (down vests are nice and thin now so you won't look like the stay puft marshmallow man!) I stay toasty. Don't forget a hat or knit headband!
@KatKoolAid3109 жыл бұрын
I'm from PA and highly suggest the North Face! Even the typical black fleece jacket from them is much warmer and better quality than any other fleece jackets I've ever worn!
@virginiagil84829 жыл бұрын
Hey girl, so I live in New York and the best advice I can give for keeping warm is just finding a coat that is made with a down filling. The higher the percentage of down the warmer the coat is gonna be. And also make sure to get some gloves! The New York winter is brutal. Love you btw!! ❤️❤️
@doriprotofanousis27729 жыл бұрын
I live in Chicago and it gets COLD here, but I have a down feather coat from The North Face and it keeps me really warm, especially if I have a sweater on underneath. But I also would say to buy those hand warmer packets to put in your coat pockets, or even your gloves, and buy some foot warmer packets to put in your boots because it's gonna be freezing sitting at that game for hours. Love you!

@paigehogg65479 жыл бұрын
I'm from MA and in the winter months, you're gonna need a cute jacket that keeps you warm & is water resistant! I'd look into Northface, specifically the Claremont Trickinate jacket! They also have a bunch of cute parkas if you're into that :) I'd also recommend buying a pair of insulated rain boots & warm boot socks if you plan on being here during the snowy months - uggs are warm, but they do you no justice in the snow (when they get all wet)!
@loveallison619 жыл бұрын
A tip on washing clothes so they don't shrink: always check the care label!! Any piece of clothing that is made out of "rayon" shrinks when you wash it and/or dry it, so always make sure you are either handwashing those items or getting them drycleaned! I work at a dry cleaners, and that's one of the things I've learned :) and when in doubt- hang dry to prevent shrinking!

Canada Goose jackets are the best! I would recommend the Kensington style because it is longer but can be cinched in at the waist to give you shape. They have so many different colours available as well. And are literally the warmest jacket! There are a lot of knockoffs out there. The manufactures list certified sellers on their website to ensure that people do not get ripped off. They are pricey and never really go on sale. They are certainly an investment. I've had mine for about 6 years and wear it every day in the winter (I live in the Canadian prairies so we get a long really cold winter) and it still looks brand new!!

I know it doesn't sound stylish, but honestly a parka (at least with a fur hood) is a great investment if you'll be wearing it for enough days of the year. Go for a sporty look in the cold, and wear base layers designed for lots of warmth if you're freezing! Oh, and warm boots (Sorels, etc.) make all the difference. Have fun!

I live in philly and go to NYC often! Honestly if you're gonna be spending that long outside during the game your safest bet is to get a long classic northface puffer jacket or a fleece lined trench (maybe from Uniqlo?) You can still wear cute boots and like a scarf or something to make it look more trendy and chic, but if you put style before practicality you're gonna freeze your lil butt off

The best advice I can give for keeping warm outside in New York in December is to LAYER! I live in Massachusetts and going to a football game that time of year can be brutal, so layer up a tshirt, sweater, warm coat (I recommend like a cute long down/down alternative). If you're sitting outside and not walking around keeping warm I also recommend bringing the little hand warmer packets that people put in their gloves for skiing and a blanket! That saved us at the winter games we went to. Plus a cute scarf, hat, and gloves. Sometimes it's not the cutest, but trust me, it'll be so cold you won't care what it looks like! Haha. P.S. Love your videos...I always watch them for inspiration while I'm getting ready in the morning! ❤️

Definitely a lot of it is about layers. I live in NJ and when I'm walking around campus at my school two pairs of leggings is my best friend. Wear some layers under a good coat. North Face makes some nice winter coats that aren't too bulky for super cold days. Dress in layers girl! A trench over whatever you're wearing is good too to block the wind. Throw a blanket style scarf over it for another layer. Beanie hats are a must because they're cute and warm. Uggs (or Ugg type) boots are nice for keeping warm and looking fashionable. If you're really worried about the cold get yourself some hand warmers and stick them in your boots & gloves. They work great!
