A craft I did last year was, put a del-rod through the 3(different colors) light weight styrofoam pumpkins then put in a flower pot. The stems on those pumpkins are easy to take out, since the pumpkins are styrofoam. Loved your video! Wonderful ideas!❤️

I was going to save this one to watch on Sept 1 because summers are short in New England and I try to squeeze every delicious degree and sun ray I can. I promised myself I wouldn’t decorate for fall until Sept 1, but I Could Not Resist watching the video now, and you did not disappoint. Squeeee! My mom made every holiday so special and fun. I’ve been in a holiday slump since losing her in Apr 2018: they just didn’t feel the same. Your first Christmas decorating your family’s valley home caught my attention, but it was the fall decor sessions you did last year that reset holiday decorating for me. It seemed so pointless to decorate for only a few weeks, but when you mentioned fall decor can go up Sept-Nov, I was onboard! I loved when you mentioned sales some stores were having because that made it even better. And I LOVE the relationship you have with your mom. It’s really fun to watch you two when you get together. Hi Kylie and Shelley, your decorations are beautiful! We've only ever decorated for Christmas. I use the same decorations year after year. There's a certain comfort that comes from unpacking them each year. It's like being reacquainted with old friends. I LOVE that you are re-using and repurposing most of your decor. I hate seeing all of the shops bulging with cheap plastic, seasonal decor, most of which will ultimately end up in landfill!

Mantle hack: you can use hot glue or museum putty to decorate a board cut to mantle depth (might need 2-3 board sections for length) then you just need to install the boards on the mantle… so just one or two trips up the ladder:) The individual boards can be repurposed as table runners or separated throughout the house as if a tray of collected items. Love your holiday decor vids! You’ve definitely got me in the mood for fall

Absolutely beautiful kylie ❤ I live in Australia and we don't get the decor in the shoos like you do. We're going into spring too.. so therefore we would have to decorate in April/may?? The only time I see pumpkins 🎃 in the shop is when Halloween is approaching.. Halloween is still quite a new thing here too. Each year there seems to be more Halloween stock in the shops.. last year I only had 3 families come past my place to trick or treat 😢 I go all out but I'm usually the only one in the street....😢

Another Australian here. We aren't big into decorating seasonally in our country, as a rule. We don't get very definite seasons even tho they are recognised on the calendar. I've known winter calendar days that have been as hot as a summer's day, have spent summer Christmas Days in jeans and a hoody, while it poured down rain, and every season all throughout the year. Halloween isn't big in Australia as it has no cultural significance for us. It's being pushed as a holiday by manufacturers and stores - it's purely commercial. I hate seeing all the plastic crap that is in theshops each year, and that will ultimately end up in the landfill. Kids that come to my door on are handed a reading/ comprehension sheet on the history of Halloween. Then they come back and receive a substantial treat! I've never had a kid not return with the answers and, at least, some knowledge of a holiday that they think is just about getting free treats.

I love your tips and ideas for low key purchase and re-use. Have you ever thought of crafting DIY decoration using the skills of your siblings. E.g. large posters/pictures from Jacob's photos or table runners and pillow covers by Brinley (sewing and cricut machine). Fun crafts to learn/do as family bonding for Xmas deco can be finger or arm knitting.
