The shirt drop likely would've worked better if you had some sort of tension relief for the kabuki mechanism. Run the cable over the top of the release box, then around the cable a few times, then tie the end to the actual release bolt. The twists of cable should make it so the box itself holds most of the weight while the bolt is just securing a knot. Depending on the line you are using, it might not untwist itself, but something like this would work. (Maybe loop the line around the legs of the drone, and attach the end to the release)

The level 40 suffered a massive inflation when they introduced friendships. You could literally get the 200 friends when you're lvl 1, not play at all other than to up the friendships, and a month later, you're lvl 40. (Not saying that it isn't a big deal to hit lvl 40 if you've been playing a long time to achieve it, just that it's possible to cheese it nowadays, which is a bit disappointing, since everyone and their cat seems to be lvl 40 now.)

could the shirt drop mechanism just be out of range from the remote maybe? Or maybe the shirt is blocking the signal somehow?

Hey J. Your problems with the T-shirt dropping could be that the distance is too long for the remote signal to get through. Or the shirt could create too much or not enough pressure on the clamp (not sure how the mechanism works). Maybe you can test that by attaching small weights instead of the T-shirt. That way you could find out if it is either one of those problems and if you can eliminate them you can be pretty certain that the problem arises from the wind/turbulence.
