I think the longer cardigan that you tried on over the skirt works because you can still se the waist of the skirt due to the curved hem. Otherwise, I think it depends on bodytype. Some people look great in slouchy and others look not put together or shapeless. Personally, I like the rule of thirds so I would avoid having a top that covers half my body and a bottom that covers the other half.

It runs oversized! So if you’re worried about it being too baggy size down - I got an XXS and I’m typically right between and XXS & XS 😋 hope that helps!
