Fall Makes 🍂｜2023｜Sewing & Knitting

Whew, this Fall season was a doozy! From a big work event in Germany to traveling for 2 weeks in the US, then battling seasonal depression and hosting a Friendsgiving, I’m just about ready to hibernate for the winter! Luckily, I planned for this busy season in advance and found projects that would match my pace - one intense, long-term project and lots of easy, quick sews to keep my creativity flowing despite fatigue. Such lovely makes 🌟 I admire your persistance to make your jeans fit. It can really be disheartening when one puts in so much effort with all details that jeans have, and in the end they don’t fit well. If you ever travel to Berlin, you should visit the turkish market at Maybachufer and Crellemarkt. You get fabrics for a budget there. Sometimes I am lucky and get really good stuff and sometimes its not so good. At Crellemarkt you get fabrics for 1 Euro per meter.

@@Sarah_Naomi There is also one called Genter Markt in Wedding where you get fabrics. The sellers of Crellemarkt and Genter Markt are the same ones as at Maybschufer, but they sell their stuff cheaper there. Often they sell their fabrics for 1-3 Euros which they cannot sell so much (e.g. lower quality) and want to get rid of to get new fabrics (e.g. new season). But I would recommend to go there, because you can be lucky and get good stuff for a very low price. The prices at Maybachufer are higher, but still between 2-20 Euro depending on what kind of fabric. You get pure viscose for 3 Euros and pure wool coat fabrics for 15 Euros. This is still a bargain compared to fabric stores and online prices.

@@Sarah_Naomi Oh, I forgot to say there is a fabric store just near to the Turkish Market at Maybachufer where you get good quality fabrics for a very cheap price. You have to get down at the subway station Schönleinstrasse and walk up the street to the market. You will see the store, because they have fabrics outside the store at the street. Some time ago they sold fabrics for 1 Euro, but they had to higher the price to 3 Euros, because of the inflation in Germany.

Thank you! Knitting is quite hard to get into, it took me a lot of time and I did almost give up at few times at first!
