Tharn is also a word in a fictional Lapine language used to describe an animal frozen in terror. In Richard Adams' novel "Watership Down" the term is used when the main characters, which are rabbits, see the headlights of oncoming cars and are frozen in place. #Radix

the entire band Fall of Efrafa is based off of the words used in Watership Down, the band was created specifically for that

As if the top comments on this video aren't even anything to do with the song! This band/ song are one of the reasons I still have faith in modern music. The pure raw emotion and talent is something that needs to be heard more in music these days. If you like these guys check out Devil Sold His Soul or This Will Destroy You. Two amazing post rock/ metal bands. Peace & love.

Basically the entire concept behind the band is about their interpretation of the events narrated in Watership Down. Efrafa is the name of a rabbit warren that appears in the book, Tharn is a word from the lapine language (rabbit's language), the same for Elil (which means "enemy"), etc. Hope that it's clearer now. :)

LivingInExile Yeah Tharn is the state in which the rabbits go when they are afraid. Basically, as our state of shock.

@furieleleutherionnochez74643 жыл бұрын
@furieleleutherionnochez74643 жыл бұрын
@sierrita_933 жыл бұрын

If I remember correctly, paper aeroplane is another group they collaborated with to "remix" the song 'dominion theology' from Elil into 'tharn'. Hope that helps.

It was me and my friend Luke Scott - we're friends with the band and lived near one another in Brighton, England. As an experiment we spent a year with the final mix of Dominion Theology and stems we got from the bands producer Peter Miles, re-arranging the song and adding loads of additional guitar, bass, drums, piano and cello to create this version. We also released the CD version on our own label the same time the LP came out.

It was alright, up until I heard him scream. Not my favorite style of screaming, as his alteration is very poor and I cannot hear what is said. Otherwise, decent song.
@mechanicalsnail47039 жыл бұрын
Personally I hardly ever like screaming. I was surprised to find myself liking this band's quite a bit. I thought about it and remembered the backstory to Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky" and how they told the singer to use her voice as an instrument. I realized that if you couldn't understand the words, it was doubling as an instrumental part and hearing the words wasn't essential.
