Love the fact that everything is scrambled instead of being chronologically ordered to show 1. The fact that sometimes time kinda gets lost in your head and you gotta kind of find it and make your timeline and 2. The fact that events are so messed up sometimes and theres so many that it's hard to keep track of what goes when

I really like this version. As a Gen X'er, these events were all within my lifetime. Billy Joel's version was from 49 to 89, and even though the song was a hit in my generation... the events spoke more to the baby boomer generation. Someday, the torch will be passed to Gen Z or Gen Alpha. I'm sure things like the housing crisis and Jan 6th will be memorable events that they'll write about. Excellent song!

You’re missing the entire point. This song picks up starting in 1989, which is when the original by Billy Joel was released. So who ever writes the next version in 30 years or so will start from 2023 because this version covers from 1989-2023.

I think it's not a revival or remake of billy joel song, it's a continuation of the historical events yearly, that's why lyrics are changed same as the chorus and the rhyme of the song sounds like the first one it shows the era and evo of music and genre of the singer/band sang it🤘🏾correct me if i'm wrong, Good job fall out boys hope there will be another band will continue this historical event song after a couple of decades.

"A" for effort, but Billy Joel kept the events in pretty close chronological order while still managing to create rhymes and verse flow. These guys jumped around and went back and forth between decades to accomplish it. Good effort though. I always thought Billy Joel should release an updated version.

They did a FUCKING SOLID for the art of cover songs (if there be any art in cover songs this has to be one the best.) THIS was great! This should be tradition from here on forth. A band should cover this song every decade or two, and like a time capsule, INSERT their generations/decades relevant events and keep it going FOREVER! someone in the comments said they coulda had more relevant topics, yeah but it’s kinda up to the musician/band and what they feel and find relevant to put out there. I think they did a great job and I’m surprised they put some stuff in there that might be triggers for the over sensitive bunch these days.
