Fall Pike Fishing in Northern Ontario Back Lake

Fishing a back lake for fall pike and bass. I needed to check the water levels in this lake to make sure I would be able to launch the boat when a guest comes to visit in mid September. I was indeed able to launch (barely) and spent a few hours before sunset trolling the shoreline for pike, bass and walleye. Managed to catch a couple decent pike and a nice Smallmouth that got off before I could grab the net.

It looks like a nice day for fishing. I fish Pike in Southern Alberta and can get up to 20 Pike in a day. Lots of them in the 6 to 8 pound range. I miss bass fishing in Ontario, though. The Ottawa River is great for multi species fishing.
