As a fly fisherman, those are the peanuts i DREAM about! 4-6" peanuts= gurglers, sippers, deceivers, and beast flies! Awesome video.

hey @themetsochist I’m a lifelong Met fan myself, and a new subscriber! The Cotton Cordell pencil popper is 1 oz. nice and light and casts very well, love it.

Enjoying your videos from Brooklyn. Curious, but how do you keep your grip on the tail? Your gloves?
@gfraser1232 ай бұрын
thanks @amigo7053, the gloves help a little bit yes. but they are slippery for sure, you really need to get a firm grip. if it's a heavier fish or one that needs resuscitation I'll need to lose my rod and lip it with one hand and support the belly in the other hand

I didn’t get what you said about “that you don’t like to pick up the the with your hands but you forgot that you are polling him out of the water with a hook doing all that force . ✌️
@gfraser1232 ай бұрын
thx @mrtonysimoes I may have jumbled a couple thoughts into one, I have heard that hands in fish mouth may = bacteria transfer which might lead to higher mortality. that’s the main reason I try to remove hooks without mouthing the fish if possible. still working on it for sure tho

what's the water temp?

Howdy, what is the # test for braid/leader? I'm really surprised you're bringing them in on such light tackle! Sick video
@gfraser1232 ай бұрын
yes @thatsnasty5788 I leave my big stuff at home these days and ever since I got into albies I've embraced the super-light tackle. My fluoro leader is 20lb test, my braid something like 14lb test. The super-light rod and tiny reel make for some fun fights for sure. but it holds up even against big strong blues.

What knot are you using ? Plz lmk
@gfraser1232 ай бұрын
@isaacyang15 in this vid I have a barrel swivel and a tactical anglers clip, in both places I just use your basic improved clinch knots. when I lose the barrel swivel and just tie braid to leader I use a crazy alberto.

Fellow brooklyn fisherman here. One weekend I didn’t hit breezy 😂😂 What time of day was this? and do you have any tips for the specific time?
@supremekarate12 ай бұрын
it was daytime, LOL!
@gfraser1232 ай бұрын
i don’t fish nights so there’s that. as far as daytime fishing goes then dawn and dusk for sure. this particular day was very grey and cloudy tho, perfect conditions all day. i try and fish the hours right after the tide turns, in either direction. some current is always a good thing. but they are fish, who the hell knows!
@Nightrangersb2 ай бұрын
Way to go on the single hooks many. Especially on the tail hook. Absolutely no reason to have tail trebles. Also crush barbs. Unless you really think you’re going to catch the fish of your life. Even then.
