Hiii Birta so happy to hear about your plans for Australia! Melbourne is a super cool and youthful city and would be wonderful for a short trip - which you and Helgi will fit right in as they are super fashionable there - But from experience, id recommend Sydney to you guys as your home base as it is so diverse (34% of Sydney's population was born overseas and is therefore one of the highest multicultural cities in the world) and offers so many variations of the "Aussie lifestyles" for you to explore in your few months. each area of Sydney really brings a completely different vibe and can mimic the atmosphere of lots of other cool cities in the world. For breakfast I have been recently been enjoying roasted-beetroot spread on toast with feta, olive oil and balsamic 😋 Good luck with your Australia plans! 🥳 I think Melbourne will be more cozy but Sydney will have more fashion events. But they are close so you can always travel between.
