For me its the same thing with final fantasy 13 trilogy. I loved EVERY soundtrack even though some of the tracks were something i hated and loved at the same time. Some of the themes were kinda scary but still amazing. Undertale is similar.

I love the way undertale uses music to exemplify character traits. This song almost immediately gives off what kind of person toriel is and shows her caring and motherly vibe through the music alone. It also uses some of the main theme which I assumed was to hint at Tori's relation with the royal family and thus the main plot.

Man I still remember the first time I played this. I was so distraught fighting her. I didn’t see any option except to fight her which inevitably caused me to defeat her. I was so against that that I got upset and shut down my game, playing it since the last save to see if there was another option…let me tell you…when she was like “this all seems familiar…have we been here…?” My heart stopped. Then flowey calling me out for restarting my game to try to save her I SCREAMED. I’ve never seen a game F with me like that
