I stopped going to my church because I got tired of 2 fast songs, 2 slow songs and a 10 minute sermon on love and three line sinner's prayer and people clap and welcome people into the body of Christ. You never hear about repentance, or correction, conviction or discipline or judgement. People come in going to hell and leave the same way. I can listen to David Wilkerson, John Hagee, Leonard Ravinhill, Charles Spurgeon, Voddie Bachmun, Carter Conlon, and other preachers that preach the full council of God.

Our preacher preaches this message and more like it. He doesn't molly coddle anyone. No candy coating for itching ears. It's so sad that there are maybe 20/25 people in our church that usef to be well packed when i was younger. People with the itching ear syndrome can't handle the truth and seek out the ones that only preach feel good sermons (Osteen?). I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

I want to share this dream that I had about a year ago. The authenticity of it, is as real as the God who gave me this dream. In this dream I was at my church, and the main pastor was preaching and on the flat screens you can see cars crashing, havoc on the streets and it was obvious he was talking about the rapture. I cannot remember everything, but I will never forget seeing the main pastor walking out waving goodbye! and just then I saw how in the front by the altar the other pastors were there, and the church was full and I saw how people disappeared. What amazed me the most was that I myself stayed to watch this scene that frightened me a lot. 2nd thing that amazed me was, the fact that at least 70% of the church was still full of people. Which it was God telling me, to prepare myself to live in Holiness and separated for Jesus Christ or else stay back and also that many are going to be left behind because they are living just like the non-christians..

@Barbara Freeman Bashing other believers in bitterness. I'll tell you what, I've sat in the pews of modern churches who appeased itching ears and gave amazing pep talks all in the name of Jesus! I had my pastor tell me that because I wanted to quit vaping, I was religious! Anything to abandon my flesh made me a legalist! After leaving that church and seeing the truth of wolves in sheep's clothing, I now feel this call to anguish as pastor Wilkerson called it, as I feel the father's heart for the body of Christ who have gone so wayward in the world. I've searched for preachers who preach sound doctrine that leads to repentance and speaks against sin and lust, and Mr Wilkerson was one of the greatest! He spoke the truth! He didn't care if he offended because he cared more about men's souls than their feelings! After I received the Holy Spirit He led me I to-reading the scriptures daily, and praying continuously. He led me to read Christian biographies and testimonies. He made me read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, 20th Century Martyrs, and world missions’ testimonies of the persecuted church. He broke my heart, but inthe breaking He taught me what the church really is and what it isn’t. I saw the church in America as lacking in obedience to God, prayerfulness, and pleased with ease and comfort. The Lord led me to David Wilkerson, his tapes and newsletter. I prayed over those sermons. I would often be on my face weeping and praying not to be deceived, or lacking in zeal. I still usten to his and Carter Conlon’s sermons. I sure miss Pastor David. It has been very difficult to find the Spiritual fellowship I crave at any church. I have been faithful in attendance because the Lord commanded it ,and I love the Lord, soI attend and try to be involved. I had daily devotions with all my kids, foster and adopted. I did not leave it to Sunday School teachers to teach them about God and His Word. I read them Christian Biographies and testimonies. We read mission reports and supported world missions as a family. If we read about Christians burying Bibles to hide them, we buried a Bible. If we read about the gathering in the cold, we had devotions in the cold or the heat. We slept on the floor with one blanket and no pillow ‘cause our brothers and sisters in prison did. And we fasted and prayed. Strange, Jesus said His Father’s house is to be a house of prayer for all nations, yet prayer is the least that is done while singing and sermons, pot lucks, psychological counseling, and youth activities have risen. However, the youth have left the church as soon as they leave home.

Tater..just the gesture that you are asking God to forgive you means that faith is still alive in you. Get together with a local church you trust and confess that sin that burdens you with a Pastor or counsellor after asking God to direct you the right way. I wonder if the young men and women of this day ever even knew that David Wilkerson was once a young man who heard God telling him to reach out to the corrupt and vicious youth on New York streets and documented his experiences in a book called "The Cross and The Switchblade" maybe even still in print. Yes I've seen this prevalent in penetecostal/charismatic churches some of whom consult various other spirits instead of yielding to the true Holy spirit. Roman catholocism in their worship of idolatry, divinations, witchcraft, etc... Pastor David Wilkerson was a general in the Faith. I couldn’t help but cry when he said as long as I stand in the pulpit. We don’t have many pastors today like David Wilkerson. This though has caused me to stay in GOD’S WORD. There are so many false teachers out there and especially right here on KZbin!!!!!
