The whole atmosphere is really wholesome and lovely. I love how their voices blended so well. Livingston’s music are really wholesome and genuine, just like JT’s music. Feels like a home with your true self.

These two brothers are so great !!! So alike and so different at the same time, which makes their duets magical. Why don't they do more songs together? Just think how great it would be to hear those voices together in a new original song !!!

I'm crazy for the Taylor family, your voices are so peaceful and dreamy! I loved you in my twenties and I still love you in my seventies! Keep singing, never stop! James, you are a poet extradinaire!

This video originally came from me. It was recorded by a local Mass. public acess channel. The show never aired (I don''t think) but they taped the whole thing. My friend was a producer on it -- I asked for this section on tape, he made a copy. I sold a copy of it on ebay over 15 years ago -- glad it still lives on.

Livingston has always been talented and quirky. He teaches at Berkeley, in this song their voices are so similar and blend so beautifully together. Livingston teaches classes in musicianship and how you develop your own stage presence and own your talent on the stage. Kids there take turns performing and are gently critiqued by their classmates and by Livingston...but the critiques are also coincided with what you did great, so it is.not meant to be hurtful at all but to make each and every one of them better performers. It is beautiful to see and experience,

So. I was at this concert in June 1988 - it was held at the (then) Atlantic Connection on Main Street in Oak Bluffs, MA on Martha's Vineyard. After these two songs, the whole family also appeared for one or two songs. City Lights (the second song on this video) appears on Livingston's album "Life Is Good".

Our first date was a Livingston Taylor concert at a little community college in Bethlehem, PA in 1978-79? Anyway, I fell in love with my husband that night, and this year, we celebrated our 30th anniversary (although, we've been together ever since). One of those "Never-forget-the-night-of-your-life" moment! Thanks for being a big part of that, Liv!

Love both of these guys but I'll be forever grateful to Liv for introducing me to Liz Longley. She was a student of his at Berklee and I saw her on tour with him once. Been a big fan ever since.

James and Livingston are "two peas in a pod" but the one I am referring to is a Karl Lagerfeld brooch made for Chanel a long time ago. Livingston's enthusiasm makes the whole performance so endearing. James is poised and polished and shows so much grace for his brother's career in music.Brotherly love no doubt about it!

Livingston is always a little “0ver the top” and I think it’s because he had two older brothers he felt he needed to make himself stand out. He doesn’t need to! His music is lovely and he’s very talented himself. I always loved his music. My grandson who is the third brother does the same thing.
@finserra112 жыл бұрын
It seems that Livingston is in complete awe of his brother, who is great, but I like/like Livingston's music on its own merits, and I wish he would stop playing the fool and just continue to play.

Rare time the harmonies are really off! At least for the first song in the beginning. Must have needed adjustments in ear “ They seem to get on really well. I am glad Liv mentioned, “On the record, we do it in tune.” haha
@GregoryMcCay Жыл бұрын
Great to see & hear/listen to Taylor brothers sing & play together. Of course, James’ always dependably exquisite guitar playing, lovely lyrics & arrangements & heartful vocals. Dear Livingston: really wish you’d properly put your guitar into that open tuning. As a lifelong singer/ guitar-player, I instantly pick up on out-of-tune instrument in mix-& it’s painful to listen to any music /recording.
@northernmuse9 Жыл бұрын
Dear Gregory, while I agree with you that Liv should have finished tuning before they played "Falling in Love With You," you imply that James wrote the "lovely lyrics" to the song. As far as I can find online, Liv is both the composer and the lyricist of the song, and they clearly collaborated on the head arrangement.
