Oh yeah! I've often said that music is my time machine. I listen to this and I'm transported back to the 80s, fluoro colours, acid wash denim and my Commodore 64 computer! Love it!

To expand on my "this tune is amazing" The tune just makes me feel excited and nostalgic. It's very late 80s early 90s kids tv channel intro music feel to it.. Always makes me think of something similar to like the Disney Afternoon and stuff like that.

This is awesome, this sounds just like all the 80s synth I would hear on VHS tapes or commercials, shows, etc. growing up in the early & mid 90s. This really is a great song, very well made. Many layers and a good structure.........This sounds like perfect 80s background music for an industrial safety training tape!

Great style :D I'm an 80's kid and Mezzoforte was one of my favourites (amongst many different styles). Later I realised that there is lots more of that style of music to be found. I welcome all the retro-ish stuff coming out celebrating a decade that was so hated right after it was over.

Can someone tell me exactly what is gerne/subgenre of this son is? I know this song is partly synthwave, but other synthwave songs are(at least for me) more sadder, sorrow and bland, and this one is sooo pure and joyful/melodic and happy. Absolutely fantastic :D
@AndersEngerJensen4 жыл бұрын
Hehe, thanks! Genre? Well, I’ve always struggled to fit any of the labels out there, it’s always ended up as hybrids. I kinda just think of my music as synthpop, happy ones at that. 🤷🏼♂️ Taking the best from the 80s and early 90s.

Hey Anders! I'd love to hear some vocals on this track and others too. Gun-Marie Fredriksson anyone? Or Anni-Frid Synni, Dowager Princess Reuss of Plauen anyone? These two women would be awesome to lay down vocals on your music!

Hehe, well as awesome as Roxette and ABBA would have been to work with, I'm not sure if neither of them would want to or even have time to do it, but the idea is interesting. What Instruments did you use if you don't mind me asking? just recently got into the Arturia V6 collection and I can slightly tell that sounds a little like a DX7 bass ;)
@AndersEngerJensen6 жыл бұрын
Hey :). It's primarily ReFX Nexus2 with a heavy weight on the new FM and FM2 expansions (so yeah, that's the bassline you hear at the intro. It's probably a mix of different synths, but mainly DX-7 yes). So there is a lot of FM based synths at play: Yamaha XS-7 (DX Galaxy e-piano, drone pads and pitch bend pad at the start, some percussion, hi hats etc), MotifRack (one of the synth leads), TX-81Z (Twelve String Guitar sound), a little bit of Roland JD-800 (synth kalimba, own preset sound), XP-80 (various pads and deep male choir), U-110, CM-32P/CM-64 (6 and 12-string guitars at the end) and the D-50 for some extra bells and whistles. Sound effects and drums from Vengeance and Zenhiser drums.

CristianElFeo Muñoz Hehe, were you disappointed? The King is great, but he didn’t make glorious 80s pop. I loved Suspicious Minds when I was a kid. Funny thing about the fadeout at the end that comes back in again, like the engineers weren’t sure how long the song should be. 😂
