The thing is though, with all the mental health stuff he’s gone through I feel like he’s too self-aware to actually see himself as the “god” that he portrays himself as in his music/videos. It’s all for entertainment value. The true test of one’s narcissism is how they treat the people around them, and from what I can tell he doesn’t actually act like he’s better than them.

Escape the Fate has The Guillotine and No Sympathy For The Dead as heavy songs on their debut album. The former especially has a lot of growls, the breakdown being only growled vocals. They feature a lot of screaming, as well as the Falling in Reverse songs Champion and Self Destruct Personality.

When he was in escape the fate, he definitely had songs that were heavy with primarily screaming. None of their singles, and they still had singing so maybe not quite the ratio of this song, but I can think of like 3 or 4 songs on their first album that were primarily quite heavy (while still admittedly having the emo feel rather than pure heavy). The Guillotine is the first one that comes to mind, which was also a song about Halo before Mychildren Mybride did it with Headshot (MCMB better tho)

Everybody gets softer with age (Ronnie gone harder) people think albums are still the focus for some reason. great point by Finn that singles can carry you and Ronnie was again ahead of the curve in ‘17. And he’s even smarter by pivoting again to stay fresh, doing an album with 1 hot single and some classics.

What makes tech special to me other than being an og is that he doesn’t just do fast, it’s his delivery, when he chooses to go fast or go slow, his lyrical quality and imagery. I don’t think there’s many rappers who can do what he can to the same level he does. I respect that he’s not for everyone, no one has to like anyone else.

If you like this cinematic masterpiece check out some of their other work. “Watch the world burn” basically ties right into this video you’ll love that one so start there. “Voices in my Head” is another cool one, “Zombified” is an iconic video and song, “Drugs” was another good one and it features Corey Taylor, “popular monster” was good too. A lot of these videos you can see tie-ins back to this new video Ronald. You’ll see it’s really cool how they sorta relate.
