Allright that video has sold me a Pocket 3! Awesome shots, grading and it's hard (for me) to point which shot has been shot with pocket and which with fuji :D

Love it! I love how you matched the grade between the xh1 and pocket 3. This was a very peaceful montage and it brought me back to the time I was there earlier this year!

Looks great, also the matching of the Osmo Pocket 3 and the Fuji! Nice! It makes me regret a bit to have sold the X-H1 a year ago.

Thanks! I think there's room for improvement in the shot matching department, but happy to hear it's getting close enough! What did you end up replacing your X-H1 with?
@felixvideoworkshopАй бұрын
@@erikopinaldo There's always room for improvement - it's already very good now! I went for something smaller, a Sony RX100 VII. Nice compact camera with an insane range, but I miss the Fuji colors for sure!
@erikopinaldoАй бұрын
Ahh I was between the RX100 series and the Osmo Pocket! All the footage and photos I've seen with the VII looked great, and I hope you're really enjoying it still!

Wow great piece of art 😮 love it . After watching it all memories from Japan coming back to me and I think need to book another trip . Love the atmosphere of the video . Great choice of music as well . Well done 👏 are you shooting in log on DJI ? Im shooting on my osmo everything auto becasue the rest shots im taking from sony fx30 where im using slog3 but maybe its time to start shooting log on osmo as well . Once again great work pleasure to watch it.
@erikopinaldoАй бұрын
Thanks so much! I was shooting in HLG because I preferred the grading workflow with that standardized profile. You'd still be able to get similar results using D-log M, I think. Both profiles have similar dynamic range

Love these. Do you plan what kind of shots do you intend to take? Or just go with the flow?
@erikopinaldo2 ай бұрын
Thanks! I had some super loose plans ahead of time for kinds of shots I knew I wanted. So the typical shots like: 1. Establishing shot 2. Medium shot 3. Some close up details if I felt like it But I didn't have any plans for any other specifics like what should be in frame or at which point in my journey I would take those shots. That's where I was going with the flow!

Thanks! For the X-H1 shots, I shot in F-log, so the look was created entirely during the colour grading process! You can look up "Kodak 2383" grading videos/guides if you want to replicate a similar look

@ awesome! I’ll look into that. I appreciate the response man. Looking forward to more content! 😁

Did you use wide angle lens for the pocket 3?
@erikopinaldo8 күн бұрын
I've only used it a couple of times to try it out so far. Personally, I feel like it doesn't give me a meaningful enough change in FOV for me to want to use it for anything

Did you shoot with D-log ? and how did you edit ?
@erikopinaldoАй бұрын
I shot with HLG! I used Da Vinci Resolve for editing and colour grading. If you look up "Kodak 2383 grading" on KZbin, you should find a few guides out there to get you started. I'll be working on a video that shows what I did for this specific trip, though!

Imho it looks like recorded with cheap xiaomi phone. Low fps, washed colors, extremely blurry. Was it intentional? Check for example "dji osmo pocket 3 virtual japan" test. It looks so great there.
@erikopinaldo2 ай бұрын
Thanks for chiming in! My response has 2 parts to it: 1. Personal taste: the intentional characteristics I aimed for while using the OP3 are inspired by old film. I say inspired because I'm not exactly 1:1 emulating those characteristics entirely faithfully. For example, I did bring down the saturation, filmed at 24fps with a 180 degree shutter angle, and added some film blur in post. In any case, I *was* looking for that not-perfect end result because I'm not currently into the super sharp output that the OP3 is definitely capable of (as shown by the videos that come up with your suggested query!). In this case, it just seems like our personal tastes don't align, which is totally ok! 2. My evolving color grading process: I'm still experimenting with what my "look" is, so things will ebb and flow as I grow into my style. For this video, I was experimenting with lower saturation. I *do* think I'll bring the saturation up for future videos though since I think this is a tad low on certain screens.
