Food habits are horrible, losing weight but I know it's all the muscle I worked hard to build before this all happened. I'm becoming a marshmallow. Since I can't go to the gym, I have decided to start working on my running. I binged about half your videos of ' 1 mile a day for 30 days' last night while I couldn't sleep. It helped motivate me today to go for a run in the snow, and not only that but ended up doing 2 miles. So thank you for being inspiring and uploading your journey!

Wow that's such an awesome feeling when you EXCEED what you set out to do. Great work! I'm glad those videos could be the little extra push to get out there...especially in the snow. I know that is not easy. Keep me posted how you're doing!

I have also fallen off the healthy eating wagon. Off the wagon and into a ditch. But as always you motivate me to look at the positive. I haven't gained back all the weight I lost (yet) so that's something. I guess my back on track plan will be to get back to tracking calories. Even if I'm not done binging I can make myself log it. For the evening treat think of it this way as much as you look forward to the wine it's really that quiet moment when the kids are in bed and your day is complete that relaxes you not the wine itself. Maybe some peppermint tea or sugar free cocoa or crystal lite in a wine glass. LOL

About a year ago I found that totally giving up alcohol was the most important thing to push my health goals forward but I REALLY missed my wind down at the end of the night cocktail. I found an amazing chocolate company called Hu that I’ve used to replace that end of the day reward. It’s paleo, so very clean and without chemicals and additives. They have beautiful bars with different flavors and fillings(all natural) or little nuggets that they call “Gems” for those times you can get by with just a handful. Chocolate can boost your dopamine production so it replaces that warm happy feeling that I searched for with alcohol but without the toxins or hydration setback. Highly recommend this method for replacing your nightly drinky poo and I’m sure there are other clean chocolatiers out there but this is the one I know and can get in my area.
@MrsSpaceCadet4 жыл бұрын
Wow thank you for that suggestion! I am feeling soooo much more focus, energy, and overall healthy feeling since quitting alcohol. I don't crave chocolate though. What I settled into is a tiny bit of Komucha at the end of the day. Sometimes I just have a seltzer :) How do you do in social drinking situations? Do you take your own non-alcoholic drinks? What do you order at bars? help lol
@andisofranko7244 жыл бұрын
Kombucha!! Solid. It’s the perfect new healthy habit for a beer nerd. Where I live you can even fill growlers from the local brewers and most bars have at least one tap dedicated to the booch! In social drinking situations if there’s no kombucha I’m a big fan of club soda with limes/lemons. It looks like a cocktail so it helps keep comments at bay from those who apply peer pressure. When I’m really struggling with not having a cocktail I squeeze a lot of limes/lemons into my club soda and put in a few drops of liquid stevia. It kind of mimics a margarita and feels more like a treat.

Oh I can so relate to this!! I've gained half a stone, it's been so easy to fall off the wagon. Lol the next thing in the uk to be sold out, after toilet rolls, was alcohol. I guess everyone was drinking at home instead of at the pub. I never drink, and I did last weekend. Also all the Easter baking (OMG simnel cake and hot cross buns!!). I have a stinking headache today, but I'm going for a run in a little while and take the dog with me. I started some yoga too - I'm not elegant, but feel loads more chilled afterwards 😆
@MrsSpaceCadet4 жыл бұрын
You're the second comment to mention yoga! I'm definitely going to get back into it at the very beginner level and see how it helps. It's so easy to give into temptations around holidays! All the treats are right in your face it seems. This Easter was the first holiday since I can remember that I didn't "treat" myself and I feel really proud of myself. I even filled eggs with candy for the kids and didn't take a bite like I usually would. Did you get out for your run? I hope it helped your headache!
@MsJoxer4 жыл бұрын
I did run, it's definitely so good for clearing the head! Haha we have 3 birthdays in our house over the next week, so I'll be having a bit of cake or two. I figure as long as I keep active, it will all be ok 🤨

At this time, my falling off the bandwagon would be making it into the statistics in virus infections. So I am inclined to take it very easy about other restrictions and monitoring whether I see any light between my thighs, which is my equivalent of your chin measurement. Having said that, I do drink wine every night and it bothers me too. After trying a suggested solution of 'week day no, Fri to Sun yes' and failing miserably week after week, I now do the 1 to 3 method: 1 sip of wine, 3 gulps of water. It achieves much lower quantities of wine but causes lots of trips to the toilet. I take the phone to the toilet trips and make them count as daily steps in the health app. There you go - I hope it helps.

I tried the no drinking during the week and it just never worked! i felt like I had to start all over every monday. It's been a couple weeks now and it's just easier to not drink...also cheaper and less calories consumed lol

Aptly named, puke hill. I haven’t drank in 5 years, but I definitely replaced it with crappy food instead. I hear you on looking at yourself while editing. I don’t like looking at me. all good points! I know you can relate to the staring at yourself editing part for sure! Do you tend to eat the crappy food at night when you used to drink?

That used to be my problem after indulging! I would think well, I already had that so I'll start tomorrow....or Monday and the cycle continued. I like what Alysha said about 90/10. If you look at it like that, there's no falling off the bandwagon because it's part of your bandwagon so to speak

I have fallen off so many times, and have been of for so long....almost feels like I am lost. I’ve never been a wine drinker, but I do like beer and other alcoholic beverages. But now that I am older and medication, I really have limited those drinks. One of my treats is dove dark chocolate. My husband will surprise me with a bag of them every now and then. I put them up and use them as a treat, or pick me up, and have one. At most three! Another thing I look forward to on a rough day, is long hot shower. Afterwards I mix up lavender baby lotion into my regular lotion/moisturizers. Be careful using the lavender baby lotion by itself and all over. It may cause super relaxation and make you comatose! Later on in the day it does ease off but then it affects the rest of my run’s for the week 🙁 I get so unmotivated and then within the month I give up. Any suggestions very welcome thank you 🤗
